master page problem when we add to the page

When I add a web form using a web form there are no images displayed on the master page.
What can be the fault?

1. It could be the images don't exist. 2. It could be the urls are bad. 3. It could be you are setting their src with js and the IDs are not getting found. 4. It could be an IE issue. I am running out of room. Please provide more details.
