I want to discover the windows server within a given range of ip address in a network. Please let me know how i can achieve this.

AFAIK, you can't specify a range of addresses to search for, but if you read them all, you can drill down from that. This may help: Retrieving IP and MAC addresses for a LAN[^]

Hi OriginalGriff,I thought you misunderstood the question, Actually I want know the whether a IP address belongs to windows system. is there any specific thing i can check to be sure that this IP is belonging to a windows system.

Complicated. I've never had to do it, but there is a description of the process here:

But don't expect it to be easy, or foolproof! This info is difficult to get to make it harder for "naughty people" to get and exploit any such info.
