Hello guys, i wanted to ask you for help in order to solve my problem

when i try to add a .MDF database in my project in Visual studio 2010 professional it shows this:


Connections to SQL server database files (.mdf) require sql server 2005 or 2008 to be installed and running on your computer \------/i tell you guys sql server 2008 r2 is installed and it is full with the management studio and all.

i've already checked on tools > data connections i wrote my instance SQLEXPRESS and also i tried to leave it blank but the message still appears

can somebody help to fix this ? P L E A S E!

You checked it was installed... did you check that it was running?

i did , went to services to check if it was running as well and it was but seems like something is wrong , i am trying to re-install it at this moment
