How to get count of matching rows on selection of drop down.

Hi Experts,

As I am new for excel I don't know how to get count of records on the basis of two values from dropdown in excel.

My excel is

Date 05/04/2016 // This is first dropdown
Time 11:00AM // This is second dropdown

result ...... //here I need count of matching records based on above selected values.

s.n. date time
1 05/04/2016 11:00Am
2 05/04/2016 11:00Am
3 05/04/2016 11:00Am
1 06/04/2016 11:00Am

Then result should be 3

"records"? Are these values on a worksheet or are you linking to a database?

Solution 1

Try "CountIf" or "CountIfs" functions.

They count the records (put them in the range for the function) in the that match your drop-down boxes (put these in the criteria).
