Unfortuenatelly this does not show if Full or Client Framework is installed (for .NET 3.5 and 4.0).
Also if .Net was uninstalled the vX.Y folder might still be there.
To be more safe you should check for some dll in this folder.
And on an x64 OS there is also the Framework64 folder.

This Alternate is not excacly the same as string.IsNullOrWhitespace because it catches also multiple space, tab, ... strings
