No, as you can see here[^], 'Answer Accepted' is NOT weighted!

Ok, now I'm REALLY confused... so what's the bug? That's it's being weighted or that they forgot to mark that on the rep system page?

Wow.

Bug confirmed and fixed.
"Answer accepted" was being weighted by member level when it should not have been.

Sorry for bringing this up again. But I just got 50 points for an accepted answer (member with silver authority reputation).

Author Reputation Point calculations seems to be buggy(since a very long time).
For eg: I have two articles and two tips, all of them got avg rating 5.0 ie no downvote. Article and Tips toatal vote is 10.
1 article has been downloaded 2093 times and other one 175 times.
Artcles book marked 20 times.
Tips book marked 12 times.
But my author reputation points are : 2080...
Please review.
Thanks,

For this one, AFAIR, you don't get points every download. It's once per unique download. By unique, I mean, if I download 10 times you will get points only once but download count will be +10.
Further, all the voting/points are reputation based so you will not be able to know what weight-age to use.

|
|
|

Last I checked, there were also daily limits on certain types of reputation points (e.g., if all 2093 downloads happened the same day, maybe only 100 of those would count towards reputation).

Member 1535837 shares an interest of mine in AI and is one of the select group of Legendary authors on Code Project but I can't find any Articles, Tips or Videos associated with this account

According to his profile[^] he has not written any. But following a message I found an article that has been deleted, but it does not say why.

Looks like they moved it here[^]. Even though it says zero articles, if you go into his article section, there is one listed.

OK that makes some sense given the article but it's a mess in terms of stats with both sites still saying 0 articles posted and CP Rep history indicates this user has posted 4 or 5 articles stretching back to 2006. The rest are still AWOL.
I can only guess that someone has done a manual data migration between the 2 sites and it has not gone well.

Hi CP,
Member Deep Sa[^] is listed as number 3 in the list of "Top Experts in 24hrs Error".
But when I saw his Authority points, it is 152, whereas the points in "Top Experts in 24hrs Error" box, it is 200.
Is it a bug ?
Thanks,
Tadit

Probably unsynchronized Servers, when you visited the profile you landed in one server with not actual data. You can try to reload a couple of times, it usually solves it

Done several times, but the same.
Have you tried and find out the problem ?
Let me know what is the Authority points you see.

Top Experts got updated every hour. So you have to wait for one hour (or exact O'Clock) after answer posted/upvoted/accepted to get it updated in Top Experts section.

I know this feature.
And I was not loading to see the Top Expert List.
I was reloading that member's profile to see how much points exactly he has got, which was lesser than the points mentioned in Top Expert list.
That was the issue.

The article titled: "XSD Tutorial - Part 1 of 5 - Elements and Attributes" has many bugs in the html used to display the sample code. The problem is that in many cases, the html tags "<br />" and "<code>" appear in the text instead of being interpreted. In the beginning of the article, this wasn’t a big deal, but as the code examples got more complex, I needed to past the code into notepad to reformat it so I could absorb the benefit of the example. The article appears to be excellent otherwise.
NOTE: After posting I had to edit the text because the "br" and "code" tags were interpreted.

|
|
|
|
This means that these elements were encoded in the sample code. In other words, the author posted in <> tags and left them as they were so that the code behind actually shows them as < and >.
|
|
|
|
|
There are other cases that trigger the problem: Let's say you have something like
BYTE CByteArray::GetAt( int <nIndex> ) const;
if you don't tag it correctly then when submitting you get weird tags closing in your code like < /nIndex> because of the autocheck of the system.
Mostly is avoidable, if the autor takes care and uses the preview, but not all do it

Why is it not possible to add comments to the first revision of a blog entry in the Approval Queue?
Most recently, I wanted to ask Pete about the indentation in his code blocks...
