It's a bit surprising that you guys do not have a button or something somewhere where you can delete your account if you want to. Even FB and LI have that (granted, you need to dig for it, but nevertheless...)
Thank you,
Stefan

There are like 20 spams in the lounge and when I try to report them it says downvoting isn't allowed in the lounge.
Help?

Can't downvote and remove spam since downvoting posts is not allowed.

Hi Abhinav,
imho, there really should be a clear distinction between reporting a message for abuse, spam, etc., and "voting."
I think the current situation with the non-functioning Report flag in the Lounge is probably just a temporary thing, and that CP probably working hard to fix it, soon.

“Thus on many occasions man divides himself into two persons, one who tries to fool the other, while a third, who in fact is the same as the other two, is filled with wonder at this confusion. Thinking becomes dramatic, and acts out the most complicated plots within itself, and, spectator, again, and again, becomes: actor.” From a book by the Danish writer, Paul Moller, which was a favorite of Niels Bohr.

While creating a message in "The Weird and the Wonderful", the top of the page says something like "Forum for Page: Hall of Shame".

I'm rather suspicious that it's the same poster who's been using one account to vote for the other.

I doubt. Both the users have exact same points against their names. This looks like some CP codes user reference issue.

I was thinking the same thing on that one, Pete.

I believe we do have an issue with this guy, if you look at his answers profile: Clickey[^] he is either an absolutely amazingly brilliant guy with the number of upvoted answers of he is sock-puppeting. My guess is that the old account 4556750, which is disabled, was him getting booted for this behavior once already. For some reason his username sounds familiar to me in this respect.

Yup. Agree with you on this.

I have reported him in Spam & Abuse. It shouldn't take long.

Looking through the list of Chapters and Sections and think a few additions/ammendments could be made.
Under Cloud Computing: Add Google App Engine, after all you already have Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
Under Languages: Add JavaScript and Python.
Under Mobile: Should iPhone not be changes to iOS, as you could be targetting any device under the iOS umbrella, not just the iPhones.
Under Mobile: Should Windows Phone 7 not be changed to just Windows Phone, after all we are now up to 8 and aligns with MS MSDN section names
Cheers,

Is it possible to set default layout for "Comments and Discussions" for article view? Personally I find the default "Open All" layout very annoying. I'd like to set it to "Normal" like it used to be before. Is it possible?
Thanks,
Damir

You can set it to Normal.
|
|
|

May I suggest having morning coffee first, answering forums after?
I put the word "default" in both subject and the body.
|
|
|
|
|
Well "Normal" has always been the default since I started on CodeProject.

After a little bit of experimenting I came to conclusion that this setting is stored locally in the browser's cookie. My Firefox blocks most cookies and I also set the browser to wipe out all cookies after each session. That's why this is never remembered for me.
Suggestion: make this setting remembered on the server somewhere in user's global settings.
Thanks.

Not sure that can happen. I can't speak for Chris and the hamsters, but I'd imagine that storing 9+ million user settings on the servers would carry just a little bit of overhead.

If my eyes didn't deceive me, fulpori40 appears to have posted (in the Lounge) after having their account deactivated.

Yep! Verified by my eyes. Half of his posts were after he was disabled by Spammer vote on his account.
