In the QA (didn't see it in others), when you post a reply to a comment, all of the replies (even on other comments) get sticked to the reply you replied to. For example, from here, Is it possible to add extra param to ajax call after assiging data to the call ?, when I replied to the reply of Moyna's comment, her comment of "how?" got appended as a reply to my main comment (the one in the thread).
Then upon reloading, everything goes back to normal. For example, have a look at the following listing, that doesn't seem to be correct; and yes, upon reloading the page, comments go back to where they belong. It only happens when you reply.

It first looks like you replied to the wrong comment.

Taking it to the next level.
Since it is now an HTML5 standard, allow embedding sounds that play when a message is opened. It's an idea who's time has come - and we've nowhere to go but down!
It's the Soapbox - what could possibly go wrong?
Actually - a profile sound would be cool, too.

You don't even need HTML5 for that. Adding sounds has been available for eons. We did it back in 2002 I think.
...and we shall never go back there. Ever.

But after years of user experience on social media of all sorts, youtube, and especially twitter, I'm sure it'll work out much . . .

If I post formatted text:
<pre lang="text"> Getting Windows ready
Don't turn off your computer</pre> Then it loses the initial spaces when it displays:
Getting Windows ready
Don't turn off your computer If I add a blank line at the start:
<pre lang="text">
Getting Windows ready
Don't turn off your computer</pre> Then I get what I wanted:
Getting Windows ready
Don't turn off your computer
There is also something funny with the "code block" widget when you having leading spaces: the pre tag appears after the spaces if you highlight text and use any code option:
<pre lang="text">Getting Windows ready
Don't turn off your computer</pre>
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

When registering at a new web site / service, do you prefer :
1) Custom username / password
2) Email / password
3) 3rd party API logins (via Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, etc.)
Offering this as a suggestion for the weekly poll.

You missed out:
4) The option of either a local account or a 3rd party login, to ensure that you stand no chance of remembering which option you picked when you signed up, and spend 20 minutes trying to log in before realising that you never actually created an account in the first place.

This got me wondering, wouldn't it be useful to have such a place? Or is there one already? There's the guy in the pub (sorry forgot the name) who's job hunting forever so I bet there are at least a few who'd benefit.
|
|
|
|
|
He is already in the PUB so much - imagine what will happen if he moves to the freezing Finland...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.
|
|
|
|
|
He would need to upgrade from the PUB to Antifreeze.

It's all about marketing. Other sites give you people that may know answers to specific questions but CP gives you people that write in-depth articles on topics. There's definitely promise in the idea. Speaking from the perspective of a former marketer.

This is the first time that anyone made a complaint that the source code is missing and I also have never faced any issue. This article of mine, Building custom email client in WPF using C#, has a link to download and I have seen that in the uploaded content there is a file as well (900kb of size), but somehow it targets to a broken link.
I surely do have the content on backup that I will later publish there. But, first I will leave this in the hands of admins to check what went wrong. Were it the hamsters again?
Plus, .rar files are broken and return 404, however .zip files show file not found on a CP layout page.

Hello!
Some times while programming we must face some math issues that need a solution.
Sometimes it is an easy thing, sometimes it is much more complicated.
With a user base of more than 12 million of ians, I'm sure this need is present and that could help a lot.
I've found myself searching for solutions in my field and sometimes it is really hard to find the right resource of information/knowledge.
Well, keep up with the good work and thank you for this place.
