Look at the Task list (link above).

I saw it on there but did not see any kind of updated status for it.

I know it's been reported repeatedly but didn't see it in the most recent list.

It is on the TODO list since 10th of June, but no exact status known...

When you are editing an article, code blocks aren't syntax highlighted - which is fine, I can live with that - but images are visible.
When you use the "Preview" button to see what the whole thing is going to look like code blocks are syntax highlighted, but all images disappear, and leave a generic "no image" blank placeholder (all of which are the same size, and not the same as the actual image size).
This means there is no way to see the article as it will appear when published!
It would also be seriously useful to have a spell check...

Preview is now fixed. Sorry for taking so long.
CKEditor has a SCAYT (spell check as you type) plug-in but I've not had much success with it so far.
Colourising in design mode is possible but I fear it will slow down editing too much (especially when editing code blocks). I could do something along the lines of stripping colouring when you start editing in a PRE block, and as soon as you leave re-instate the colouring.
Alternatively we could switch from server side to client side colouring, but the client side colourisers aren't as good as our serer side for things like ASP.NET with it's language-blocks-in-language-blocks-in-language-blocks messiness.

You've been busy!
Chris Maunder wrote: I fear it will slow down editing too much
I can understand that - as long as there is a way to see the "finished article" as it will appear to readers, I'm happy with uncoloured code in the editor - better than slow entry anyway! But the colour on / off sounds interesting - if that could be done without too much complication it'd be interesting to see it work.

I have been writing an article for the last day. I had it complete and was adding the project demo, when the page got refreshed or something happened, which then wiped my article and replaced it with the default. The draft copy now shows the default. Has my article been lost or s there a version somewhere I cant see.

My apologies for not spotting this earlier.
You say "you'd been writing your article for the last day". Does that mean you worked totally inside the editor? It should have been saving drafts as you went, but if you clicked the "Delete Article and Start over" it will, well, delete the article.
We are making a change so that the delete is not a hard delete, just a soft one. We deliberately made it a hard-delete for those who abandoned an article without hitting Publish, and soft deletes if you've actually saved the article as a work-in-progress, but we'll revise this.

While I'm editing an article and save (or saved by auto-draft-save), it pushes empty line (<p> </p>) between every paragraph.
As I already edited a few article while in beta, I can tell it did not happened before...

The editor itself has not been changed. Are you using a different / updated broswer?

Now I made me a fool
Yesterday I was able to reproduce it, but now I went to check if it browser dependent (I'm working on different browsers in different places) and wasn't able to reproduce it even once...
You may forgot it for now - if I will see it I will investigate deeply and occasionally open a new report...
Thank you

I thought it was just me or may be some specific scenarios I might be searching for but off-late few of my colleagues shared the same concern that they no more see CodeProject related search results in Google anymore. We see StackOverFlow as top results and no/rarely see CP result at all.
They in fact asked me if CP is maintaining articles anymore or not - It looks concerning to me!
If this is a common pattern and faced by masses, probably this needs attention.

Result of the link above gives only 1 search result for me - this one is from CP-Lounge.
Overall, in general whenever looking for any issue/keyword - CP is not there and SO is!

BTW are all fora likewise affected or is it only for some of them?

I asked about what fora ( forumses if you like) are being affected and not what people / users.
Cheers!

Google's ranking loves Question and Answer sites. Google's goal is to get you an answer on their search page itself without actually requiring you to go to the content page itself. So's format suits Google. Try queries for CodeProject content on Bing and Google and note the difference.

Just curious, were you aware of this observation that I shared?
BTW, Does I get the hint right:
1. We should probably switch to Bing!
2. We (CP) as such don't have any pro-active plans to be on the first page of Google Search result.

Hi Guys
For quite some time I've had the ability to edit my own articles - all good.
But recently I've noticed that if someone else has a saved draft of their article, I also have the ability to edit that draft.
I haven't followed through to prove the point but I thought it worth raising.
