Well, I've got good news and bad news.
The good news is, you will soon stop receiving any emails from CodeProject.
The bad news? It's because your account will be closed for abuse.
Rather than engaging with the site owners to successfully unsubscribe from the newsletters which you obviously don't remember signing up for, you have chosen to spam multiple forums, posting duplicate copies of increasingly rude and abusive messages[^].
Don't bother getting your coat. You won't be missed.
NB: This was NOT a reply to the witch of code; the original message I was replying to has been deleted.

Yes, it's a long-standing bug. The original message I was replying to has been deleted, so the replies to that message appear as replies to the next thread up.

So this is how you bring up problems and work with people to solve them?
Your posts say a lot more about you than they do about CodeProject.

Opened this account last week and immediately subscribed to Insider and Daily Build newsletters.
So far I have not received either.
Can you please check this.
Thanks.

I've manually updated your subscriptions. You should start getting them tomorrow.

I wrote a technical blog about migrating a site from Jekyll to Hugo.
(two very popular static site generators - at the time of writing this, the projects have 48.5k and 73k stars on GitHub)
I didn't find tags for Jekyll and Hugo, so I tried to create them by simply entering them (Tags FAQ, How can I create a new tag?).
When I try to save, I get this message:
Quote: The following tags have been previously closed: hugo, jekyll.
The Tags FAQ also says:
Quote: While creating new tags you may see a message stating that one of the tags was previously closed (or something to that effect). You won't be able to proceed until you remove the closed tag. If you feel that the tag should not have been closed let us know why you think so and we'll consider re-opening it.
So here I am, and I hope this is the right place for this:
Why would someone close the tags for projects which are this popular, given the fact that there are lots of existing tags for projects which are way less popular?
Would you consider re-opening these two tags? Thanks!

Thanks very much for your message. The reason the tags were closed is not because the projects were not popular, but because they were not popular (or commonly used) on CodeProject. But I appreciate your request and reasoning, and the tags have been restored and added to your blog entry.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

Tried to ask a question. Lots of typing and careful layout.
Hit Submit button and reply back is:
There was an internal error creating the item.
Oh well, I figured out the answer as I was trying to explain the problem, but still, submission did not work.

It looks like we had a long running database process that was causing issues last night. I'm sorry about that.

I successfully opened an additional account using my Gmail address (because I'm still not getting any newsletters).
I was given:
Display Name: Member 16270984
User Name: User-16233274
Now I can no longer login using my password.
So I go to "Forgot your password", enter my email or name and I get a "Unable to find your information" message.
So I think maybe this account had not registered or been deleted. So I try to "Join" using my Gmail account and I get a "There is already an account using this email address" message.
So I keep going round in circles - the account apparently exists but I can't retrieve the password - and I can't use my Gmail address because it is already being used!
What to do?

I don't work here but I think both your Display Name and User Name have kicked a bucket. You should be: Member 16186463 according to "coder56" professional profile. I do see that the response to your last post about recieving the Newsletter is also indicative of something gone wrong on the bucket end. And apparently contacting support would not be advisable because they can't find the bucket. Or have found the bucket and have chosen not to respond.

Or have a lot of buckets to sort through.
Looking into it.

You have a gmail address for this account
You have a not-gmail account (Hint, it's a telco provider) for this account.
Which account stays and which goes? Which would you like me to manually reset the password (and email you the temp password)?

I do not even consider it a bug, and probably only a small group of people will have noticed it (if someone did notice it before me )
Spam account just created with minimum amount of rep points:
Spam account with no points:
As the reputation counters are not there because the second user has no points at all, the layout of the whole profile page gets 20-25% thiner than usually.
Kind of logic behaviour for me, but I think it would be nicer if all 5 counters were visible with "0" points and the format of the page looked as usual.
I just realized that the orange rectangle enclosing the total reputation points below the profile picture is missing in the second profile too

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

There was a really sensible, well thought-out reason why the reps are hidden at 0 points.
I just wish I knew what it was.
I'll add this to the TODO.

What does this have to do with Codeproject.com?

What does bug on Codeproject.com have to do with Codeproject.com?
Strange question.

You posted a link to a github project and just said you couldn't download the readme file.
What does that have to do with Codeproject.com?
This forum is for bugs with the site, not github.

If you didn't know, the Codeproject.com has the ability to Import GitHub Project.

Oh, I did know. You just didn't specify that particular functionality is what you were having a problem with, nor did you mention the article you're working with.
