We had some issues with some background services as a result of a server upgrade on the weekend. Things look OK now.

Over the weekend I added a new article. Both attachments cannot be downloaded although I can see them in the article submission wizard. What am I doing wrong?

Second this problem. I overcame it by pointing the downloads to files on my own servers, but couldn't get them working through CP's servers. For the CP staff: my affected article is dwl::fractalBrowser. Feel free to fix the links to the files uploaded to CP.
edit - I haven't fixed the link to the first zip file in the DWinLib Build Process article. It is also fubar, so you can see what is happening there.

We updated one of our servers, which runs a service to sync files between our web servers.
The service was failing to run after the upgrade, but I've corrected the issue.
Your article download files appear to be ok now.

I'd be really surprised if this issue has not been brought up a dozen times already - but as it prevails, I repeat it:
Maybe it has to do with Corona, or Christmas vacation: The last few weeks it has been even more prominent that some threads are kept alive for a week, maybe two weeks, maybe more, by new comments and follow-ups.
So there is this orange bullet marking updated forums. But where are the updates? The other day, I found the first update after flipping through eleven 50-entry pages with no marks: I found it among entries 551-600. The following day, the first new entry was among entries 501-550.
Usually, I flip through no more than ten pages, but every now and then I decide: I will find that new entry! Finding these page 11 and 12 entries were a result of such determination
But: You do know of the new entries. You know to put that orange bullet flagging the forum, in the left hand column. So, now that you know of the new entries, why couldn't you also indicate in which pages they were found, e.g. by displaying the page numbers underlined, or in some other color?
That "Latest post" frame is of course OK, but it is too limited (and for some reason, it isn't always there). A page flag, "This page has new entries", would be far more flexible/helpful.

I'll have to see what sort of load it puts on the system to find the page where the new post is. What we currently do is update the "last updated" property of the forum itself and so, when listing forums, we can give a yes/no on new posts. Querying for new posts since you last visited is an expensive operation (when multiplied across all viewers) which is the only way we could, prior to displaying a page, get an idea of where the new post is.
Another option is "New topics" vs "New replies". A reply could be to a post 5 years ago. A new post will always be at the top of the first page.

I received an email notification about a reply to one of my messages in the Lounge forum. However, there is no trace of the reply in that forum. I see no reason for the message to be censored in any way.
I'd like to make the replier aware of this, and acknowledge his comment. If there is an option for sending personal messages to the replier, it must be well hidden. I was unable to find it.
This may be by design, to protect members from being flushed by mail - spam, hate mail, or whatever. But when a reply isn't displayed in the forum, there ought to be some way to notify the replier.
(I was considering that maybe the reply to the forum was just a little delayed, but the the email notification is now 21 hours old. I received an email notification of another reply 11 hours ago, and that replay has been available in the Lounge for some hours already. So I don't think it can be ascribed to me being impatient!)
