So on a slightly related note, would you support listing the votes that a member has made?

I'd like to see that downvotes needs to be commented, just like with articles.

Nah, not for comments. Comments require little to no work or thought to post, as such, voting on them should be the same, I shouldn't have to justify 1-voting a single sentence cr@p post. Articles, in theory, require much more work, thought, and time. Therefore, I think requiring a comment for down voting on articles is justified.

I am all for showing votes, if not showing who voted then at least being able to see how someone votes. Egg: Tom votes 10% down and 90% up, Dick is 50:50 guy and Harry is 90% down votes. I'm sorry, but I reckon Harry is Troll Voter in this little scenario.
I also suggested before that we have an 'allow public voting' option; a 'I'll show you mine if you show me yours' type thing. Anyone can permit their votes to be viewed, and by doing so can view who voted for them.

I don't think CP should out-and-out show everyone's voting, as I think it could possibly cause more harm than good with tit-for-tat voting. As it is, if people want to be known for a vote (your opt-in idea), they usually leave a reply of 'My vote of 5', or 'My vote of 1'. However, I really like the voting trend idea, showing how they vote on average.

Voting trends probably won't show what people think they will show. Even those who have targeted a given member often vote other members up in the same breath.

How about an average vote-value? Which would be the weighted average of all votes a member has ever cast.
I guess that depends on what you think I think people think it will show
Honestly, I just think it would be an interesting stat. You show the average rating of content created by members, I think showing an average of how people rate others would be interesting as well.

I like both of these.
A potential problem with the first, the valuable guys on 'Spam Watch' may look like 'Troll Voter's, but I'm sure there would be a way for that to be sorted.
Anonymous voting is pretty pointless IMO.

I hunt the pink as well as the next man, but my up votes far out way my down votes. I reckon I'll vote 20-30 times a day and max 10 will be down votes.

I like your earlier suggestion. If you want to be able to vote, you agree to have your voting shown. No agreement, no vote.

This is probably no option, but I vote for removing the voting system.

That was before Microsoft gave us a form designer and garbage collection. You know, back when we were actually responsible for writing good code?

Could we do a big test: One month without voting system ? Simply disable it, and see if the world is really worse without it.

I know you asked someone else, but if you asked me, then my answer would be YES!

Yes, I actually think that would be a good thing. It takes away the hassle of having to leave a comment, while informing the recipients of a vote who has thus endowed them with this special form of appreciation.
