Some of the survey other results I think are spam as they are links to non computer websites.

This doesn't look fixed to me. Maybe I'm not viewing the page correctly.

Looks to me that they are new additions that have been added after the Mods cleared up the first lot. Re-report in a seperate thread maybe?

Question: Does revoting delete your previous inputted answer? It doesn't seem like it does for the input answers because my answer was one of the unique ones and still in there.

No it doesn't

Little suggestion for Question in the Code project. It is better if we have a link to itself on question title.
When we want to refresh the page rather than hit F5 or reload from browser this option will be quite useful.
what do you think?
|
|
|
|
|
I can't say it has ever been a problem to hit F5 for me...I don't see what would be gained from this, myself.

If you start replying to a message in the Lounge, and the thread is moved to the Soapbox, you get the error:
Items that need attention:
You do not have permission to perform this action Which is really not very helpful.
I know it doesn't happen often, but a better message would help when it does.

This[^] is supposed to be a new version of a Tip/Trick, but the headings all say it's a new article. Bug??
It has not been approved yet.
|
|
|

It says "Tip/Trick" as far as I can see.

It does after it's been approved for public. Before that, I swear the first tab above the text said "Article".

I am currently writing an article which has both VB and C# code which does exactly the same.
I need to show lots of code examples and posting two code blocks for each example makes the article even longer than it already is.
Is it possible to do something like on MSDN where you have one code block with tabs [C#][C++][F#][VB][Insert language here]?
This is the second article I am writing this way and I haven't heard any complaints in the first article, but it would still be great

Ah, hadn't seen that...
Well, consider this a bump then

public class Naerling : Lazy<Person>{
public void DoWork(){ throw new NotImplementedException(); }
}
|
|
|

It doesn't need a bump, as they have implemented it already. Take a closer look at the resplies to the message that was linked to.
|
|
|
|

string reply = @"So you're saying I can already have tabbed code blocks?";
Dim reply As String = "That's so awesome!!!"
I don't think I'm getting it...

public class Naerling : Lazy<Person>{
public void DoWork(){ throw new NotImplementedException(); }
}

Nice tip, but what am I supposed to see?
I don't see tabbed code blocks and clicking on (C# Version) only changes the url of the page...

public class Naerling : Lazy<Person>{
public void DoWork(){ throw new NotImplementedException(); }
}

Oops, I must have linked to the alternate. Go to the main tip. The alternate's links no longer work because they were put in place in the old tip/trick system. In fact, I'll be deleting the alternate once a certain bug (unplanned feature) is fixed.

Oh, nice! Exactly what I need for my newest article[^]!
Thanks for the tip!

Based on my above test, it works in tips, but not in the forums.
EDIT: Also, it doesn't work in the tips preview, but it does work when the tip is published.

In case of programming articles or other technical articles, there seems to be a intuitive need of an attachment function in the comments section, so that the author and user can interact better in a query-answer session.
This is a problem I faced when trying to solve a query on one of my articles and I had to give and take some code files through emails....so I wished an attachment system would be appealing and a nice feature to be. Afterall its the famous CODEPROJECT !!
Thanks and regards,
Robin

Yeah - we've gone back and forth on this one a lot. The possibility of abuse is very high given the noise level in the forums, so we've always been reluctant to take on that responsibility.
Maybe it's time...
