Java too huh. I have this fixed locally so it shouldn't happen for new posts moving forward (after Chris uploads). I'll see if I can cleanup all the old ones too. Thanks for the report.

Mostly fixed. This shouldn't be happening for any new posts. And we will shortly update existing items and remove the duplicate tags.

On Q&A...
When you add a comment, the Cancel and OK buttons on the bottom right of the text box seem awkwardly the wrong way round.
That is to say I think it would be easier to have the OK button to the left of the Cancel button.
As you mouse across, the cancel highlights before you reach ok and on at least two occasions I have hit this first.
What do others think?

I assume that you are talking about the edit dialog, not the add dialog.
I agree with you and will recommend the change.

that is a religious issue.
you could argue the "accept" choices should have much larger widgets, and green colors; the "reject" choices smaller widgets, red colors, and an additional "are you sure" dialog.
I agree you would hope a single application or web site to be consistent, you'll never get the world to agree on any such matter though.

I don't think they should be different sizes, but I've implemented the "green is good, red is bad" pattern in the article submission wizard. I'm happy to extend that everywhere if that's suitable.

I don't think there is a big issue; no need to commandeer the Crusaders.
IIRC there is a Microsoft design rule about the ideal position of the OK button in a Dialog; and the recommended position has moved over the years. Another sneaky attempt to sell app upgrades?
And once buttons have been sorted out, what do you do about widget/hyperlinks? green and red too?
Anyway, I recommend people read what they aim for before clicking it; I prefer consistency (I know that is difficult to achieve all the time); and I do not like "dynamic" behavior, where the system modifies the GUI based on historic information, randomness, or bugs.

Even so, accept should be the default, cancel should be awkward choice.

Can I propose a novel idea:
Read the text that's on the button...
|
|
|
|
|
Suppose I have answered a question and OP puts a comment to it asking some clarifications.
Now if I reply to the comment, does the OP (or for that matter anyone who commented my answer to ask something) gets a notification mail (supposing he/she has opted for it)?
I am not sure if this functionality is already in place. If yes, please let me know.

AFAIK...
You post Answer, OP gets notification of answer.
He Comments your answer, You get notification of comment.
You Reply to his comment, YOU get notification.
It does not appear that the comments in Q&A are threaded like the forums.

Correct. This is what I know as well.

I am requesting something similar.

I asked the same earlier. Chris told, they are discussing on the same then.
Currently, the email is not sent to enquirer if replied back as a reply-comment to another one.

I felt I read something similar, but couldn't find the post. So I created a new post.
Anyways let's find out the discussion results.

Setup:
Person A posts a question, person B answers the question, then person A posts a comment asking for clarification to person B's answer.
There is no concept of "replying to a comment". You can post a new comment underneath an existing comment, but not directly reply to a comment. If you post a comment after a person posts a comment then the author of the question or answer to which the comment is attached will get the email, not the author of the comment that was posted before yours.
We've debated internally what we should do (threaded comments vs non threaded) and we've decided we want to keep things simple.
However, we could certainly add an option "notify me when a comment is added to this thread" which would send emails when any additional comment was posted, or alternatively we could add a "Reply" button to a comment that will post a comment under other comments, but send a notification to the comment to which you are (nominally) replying, plus to the owner of the question/answer

Seems a good option to me. A user can keep track of a post he/she wants.

Again a good option. You are talking about a threaded system here. I guess this is what some people have suggested.
Whatever it would be, I am waiting for it to be implemented soon.

I just wanted to quote a line from the answer (and change it slightly) in a comment and copy/pasted a code line:
strFileName = reader.GetString(reader.GetOrdinal("<Column_name>"));
When submitting the comment text, it removed <Column_name> and nothing I can do to get it back seems to work.
The thread in question was this one:

Having Column_name in tags renders it inviosible unless you turn off the Encode option.
However, this leads to the pre or code tags not being read properly.
To resolve, simply add a space after the < and it will work.

Change the < and > characters to the literal values < and >.
It's time for a new signature.

I happened to check out the message history for a 1-voter on one of my tips, and all the guy does is 1-vote. I susp[ect he has many accounts, but this one is over 7 years old. He's never posted an article, tip/trick/blog, and only has 61 messages - most of them "My Vote of 1".

Can we do something about this please?
