The lounge isn't a place for political discussion. The Soapbox is the place to grind your axe.

Exactly so, which is what I pointed out to the person in question. But he was claiming that there is nowhere on this site where such discussion should be allowed, and used that to justify kicking Fatboy out.

The post that I saw removed was about how bad it is to work from home.Hardly political. The reason [evetually] given was FB's signature.

And to answer your question, I don't agree with any kind of censorship!

True, and I don't have any personal problems with that. Which means I don't post politics in the lounge.
And if someone does I tell them so, there's the difference.
So it doesn't mean I have to agree on censorship.
And BTW, neither is spam, do you want to go on a crusade against spammy signatures too?

Jörgen Andersson wrote: So it doesn't mean I have to agree on censorship. My point is, there is no such thing as full free speech in the lounge. The lounge rules have specific censorship rules. If someone is not following the rules, there's nothing wrong with reporting them and there's nothing wrong with not reporting them.

It's not about free speech vs censorship. It's about respecting the conversation.
If you're in a room and one group is talking about gardening you don't just waltz up and launch into a diatribe against the French President. Unless it's about his treatment of his azaleas and his thoughts on garden tool storage.
Free speech is a right, but it carries an obligation to show a little respect.

Your message has just been kicked from the Lounge. Nothing wrong with it at all!

I suspect there are people who object to your signature as it is (under a strict interpretation of the rules) political opinion, and thus should be in the Soapbox. Personally, I don't have a problem with it, even though I disagree with it.

Is politics still banned? It doesn't appear in the blurb at the top of the Lounge.

I know of at least one person who objected to it. The thread on it was quite entertaining to watch yesterday.

The two work very differently, I know, but...
When you are dealing with the Big Old Spam Hunt[^] targets, my procedure is to check the message, spam report it, delete it.
The spam report brings up an in-page alert "Are you sure you want this message removed?" with OK and Cancel buttons.
The delete message loads a new page "Are you sure you want to delete this message?" with Confirm and Cancel buttons.
The thing is, the alert is handy, because "OK" is the default button, so you can just press ENTER and the message is reported. But the page doesn't have a default button, so you have to move the mouse all the way back to the top of the page to confirm it.
It would be nice if it was consistent - and having the alert for both would save a little time and effort as well.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
