Thank you, Sir! I can see the "Professional" icon under my profile.
Can you also get me back my 250 points please, they kind of matter a lot to someone who has only 20k of them..
Your time will come, if you let it be right.

Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

I have just seen a new event pop into my rep history list for a newsletter opt-in: now, I'm maybe getting on, but don't remember having a senior moment...
20 Nov 2014 7:02pm 50 Participant Newsletter opt-in MailingList Research Library Daily
What is this about, should you really be opt-ing people into things they haven't asked for? or is this a boo-boo

Me too, not that I mind that really, but it happened the very same thing to me in the last 5 hours tops!

It's part of the Research Library: we send notifications of new items posted that match items that members have already downloaded. However, we're making sure it's all wrapped into a formal mailing list so we can provide a simple way for everyone to remove themselves from any of these emails.
And how on Earth do you spot rep changes so quickly??

Do you just click on the link on the top-right of the page? To the left of the sign-out button?

yeh, I noticed the number take a step up and checked the rep list to see what triggered that and that's when I noticed.

I have the same question. In the past several months, not once has that page loaded for me. It's always blank. Beginning to wonder if it's just me.
The page URL is http://www.codeproject.com/script/Reputation/List.aspx?mid=[id], right? If so, it's always blank for me.

It has been very slow on occasion and same as you it hasn't worked some times just like you say. As if a timeout is occurring somewhere in the chain.
|
|
|
|

That's because your reputation is unquantifiable and there for can not be displayed

Odd, first two attempts just now worked. First time in months I've seen that page load for me. I guess it's just a load issue then. Not surprising with guys like OP refreshing the page every 5 minutes.

That's because I had gone to bed and wasn't clicking it every 2 seconds

I would like to see the tree at left of the forums anchored to the top of the page rather than the bottom. If I'm looking at a question in the .NET forum and want to switch to one lower down, it often means having to scroll a long way down before the meniu item moves into view.

I'm assuming you have a very short window.
I've made the menu sticky specifically to reduce the scrolling that's needed, but I can see that on very short viewports there's an issue. Maybe I just disable the stickiness for short windows.

No, a normal size window on a laptop. It just seems a bit of a pain having to scroll down to get to the bottom entries, when the right hand side is already scrolled far enough. But if other people prefer the current system I'm happy to live with it.

Can it be made into a setting?
When I'm on a tablet its actually a bit disturbing when things jump around and I don't really mind the scrolling very much on real computers.

Count me too on this matter, I just realized that on 16:9 screens it is quite a hassle being forced to scroll down all of the content side just to access the other forums.

In case anyone's missed "the Dieting[^]™", I've just discovered a huge amount of spam hidden in the personal forums of various spam-bots. (I suspect I've only scratched the surface, and there's a lot more to be found.)
Since these bots have never posted in any other forum on the site, only the search-engines will ever see it. As a result, some of it has survived for several years.
I think it might help to restrict the use of the personal forum to members who have:
- posted in at least one other "public" forum on the site, or in QA;
- earned a minimum reputation "score"; and
- been a member for more than a month;
It won't be foolproof, but it would probably have stopped most of the spam I've just found.
