We're in the midst of a building a general spam solution that may - or may not - solve this issue.

Hi Chris,
I would like to add Sandcastle documentation to my PDF File Writer C# Class Library (Version 1.9.1)[^] article. Obviously, I can package it with one of the download files. What I am really interested in is if the help directory can be hosted on Code Project such that programmers can view it in the same way as MS help files.
Thanks

You mean the formatted HTML produced by Sandcastle?
If there was demand for such a thing I'd certainly add it.
(I've always been amazed at how insanely painful it is to generate Sandcastle docs. Surely it should be, by now, a single button click)

I am preparing a new revision for my article PDF File Writer C# Class Library (Version 1.9.1)[^]. One of the enhancements is Sandcastle documentation. I have too many classes, methods and properties to describe in the article. The difficulty in producing these files is adding the XML documenting comments to the source code. I still need some cleaning to do. Producing the document once you have the comments is very easy (one click) as long as one loads the right software.
I am definitely interested in hosting it on Code Project such that clicking on a link in the article will display the help page. I am not ready yet to publish revision 1.10.0. However, I have the Sandcastle ready for testing. If you want to look at it, I will upload it to you. Uncompressed it is 10MB, compressed it is 2.3MB. The help folder contains 1000 files in 6 folders.
Please let me know how you want to proceed.

I'm not even sure how to proceed with 1000 files!
Is there an option in the software you use to generate relative links within the documents? If so then we can probably just upload the entire zip, crack it open and have the files sit inside the article's download directory.
If the Sandcastle docs were produced as a single-page application that would be brilliant - then we could simply frame it inside a tab on the article (but I know I'm probably dreaming here).

Chris,
I can send it all as one file with .mht extension. The MHT file is only 243KB long. Unfortunately the article update upload feature will not accept .mht files. If it would, I can upload it and set a link to this file and I think it will all work out. Like anything else in programming until you try it you cannot be sure.
Can you help me try it out?

Uzi, how about generating a .chm instead of a website?

I can produce .chm file. It is 768KB long.
How can I include this file with the article?

Just .zip it and upload it as part of the article.

My original question was, is it possible to view the help pages on line. It is obvious that I can include it in one format or another within a downloadable file.

Yes, I know.
I attempted to answer your question "How can I include this file with the article?".

I originally used the wrong account (David-Cunningham instead of DavidCunningham) so I updated the post.
Can you please forward me the email? I'm guessing it's sent the link with the "www.codeproject.com" bit missing.

Hello, I opted in into some CP newsletters, and other than incrementing my rep points I saw that my Visitor points dropped by 100 points, all with no event in the rep log.
Is that a bug or a feature?

Let say there is an article with 58 votes and 4.88 rating. I am voting this article with 5 stars. When I click to five star it looks there are 59 votes and the rating is updated as expected. But when I refresh the page my vote is gone. Again, there are 58 votes and old rating.
What Am I missing?
