Your message says "Message Removed". If it had been voted off for spam/abuse, wouldn't it say "Message Automatically Removed"?
Are you sure you didn't accidentally hit the "Delete" link?

I think Chris changed that particular piece of text a while ago (too lazy/tired to look for a link).
I posted the message and then forgot about it.

When you go to a CodeProject FAQ, you aren't able to vote, you can only flag the article. But why? It would be nice if we would be able to vote for them.

I always thought that was odd behaviour as well, but just accepted it as it was the FAQ section.
Possibly because anyone can edit the FAQs, why should the original poster take the credit for them.

Not at all. The FAQ articles from the CodeProject staff are editable by Silver authors, but also other people can write FAQs, and they can set that only Admins/Editors can edit their articles.

I was using the term 'anyone' loosly.....

They aren't technical articles - they are helper articles about the site.
But sure - I'll turn on voting.

No don't please. I hate to see poor low votes there. Those articles are manuals so no need for ratings.

there is a person whom i downvoted for a "wrong answer" now for taking revenge he is downvoting all my answers what should i do?

This[^].
Veni, vidi, abiit domum

Are you sure? The first 5 answers of yours that I opened contained no voting at all.
no. i cant see the person's name but in just 1 min he downvoted 9 of my answers 1 or 2 are accepted answer also
So you are assuming it's this person. You have no proof then.
because only in 1 min he reduced 36 points by downvoting 9 answers.
What I am saying is that you don't have any proof that this is one person. You only have assumptions.
but how it is possible that in one minute in multiple question i got 9 downvoting.
Well, there are over 10 million members.
Well, in my opinion that is not very fair to claim about points here. It may also be a normal case as here are over 10M members, some days ago i got 9 upvotes at a time and then in another day i got 4 downvotes(16*4=64 points, which is rather large than you) within 30 secs. So it may happen, just calm and quite.
If you are true code lover person, you should look for more good answers to deliver, nothing considering about points only. You need to consider how much you help the people, not how much you gain from them.

Several weeks ago I actually got a little red notification arrow while logged-in.
But, since then, seen nary a hide nor a hair of 'em.
I've reviewed all my settings and can't find a specific setting to enable on-line notify.
Am I missing something (other than sanity) ?
thanks, Bill

Until the late 20th century, nobody knew how to take seriously a machine with a trillion moving parts. It's just mind-boggling." Daniel C. Dennett
