That innocuous little bug has lead to a fix for a bug that's been hiding from m for 3 years.
Hiding in plain sight.
Squashed.
Thank you.

This week's newsletter gets chopped off part way through the description of Simple Captcha Code in Javascript[^]. The description is not HTML-encoded properly:

Same problem with this week's Web Developer newsletter - the email is chopped off at the same article.

Could you guys add "Functional Programming" as an entry under "General Programming"?
Also, under "Languages", please add F# and Ruby (or at least F#!)
Thanks!

+1
Also please add HTML5/CSS3* & MVC under "Web Development" if possible.
* - In past I have seen a section called "HTML5/CSS3 Zone", don't know where is it now?

Guess this one was already posted below.[^]
You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named "Bush", "Dick", and "Colon."

If it's not fixed yet we will keep reminding them to do it. You know how developers work

It was posted after midnight, last friday - Between last friday and today was something called weekend.
Whatsoever, Chris (Or a prolific member) replies to every bug report in here, so as long as you can't see an answer below the OP you can assume that Chris hadn't the time to check for new bugs yet.

This is not something about to forget. No need to remind them. They will respond to your suggestion once reviewed.

Should be fixed after next deploy. I re-wrote the emoticon substitution code for performance reasons, but had a couple of problems with the RegEx.

You have a problem, and you decide to solve it with RegEx. Now you have two problems.

Lately, Codeproject results in Google searches no longer show star ratings and author info.
I searched for:
https://www.google.co.il/search?q=inurl%3Acodeproject.com+pointer[^]
Got five pages, no author pics, no ratings. A few weeks ago, they were showing.
A blog page I found (http://fnfweb.com/how-to-make-your-face-show-up-beside-google-search-results/[^]) says that the link should look like this:
<a href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/114348963186279690859/?rel=author">+Kaitlin Reeves</a>
That is, the content begins with a plus sign, then the author's name.
In one of my articles, I found this:
<a href="https://plus.google.com/112066885820314203788?rel=author" rel="author" class="small-text">Google</a>
Maybe the '+' character in the content is the one that makes the difference?

The old (numbered) URL should still work.
The webmaster tools show that our tagging and microformat data is correct. google, in its wisdom, has just decided to ditch the eye candy.
It's incredibly frustrating

There is something wrong with the vote count in the weekly survey.
[Edit]
Ok I now see the legend "Respondents were allowed to choose more than one answer; totals may not add up to 100%"

I don't see a problem, but since you currently have 666 points, all bets are off.
[Mumbling to myself...Where did I put all my crosses and the holy water?]
On a serious note, you do realize that you can check more than one checkbox in the survey, right?

Are you scared?

So the total votes represent the number of unique voters

contracting1990 wrote: So the total votes represent the number of unique voters Yes, the Responses (currently 114) is the number of people that pushed the Vote button.
I see why you are asking the question - if you tally up the numbers in the Votes column, the result is not the number in bold on the last line.
