I guess that means I'm not the only one who has had that "Oh, crap.... That's going to tick that OP off..." moment.
I agree that for a delete the extra prompt would be pretty big quick win...
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

on the tag list page I guess it displays all the tags and its associated QA.
but on clicking the link it displays latest QA filter/my filter content and it does not display the items as marked by Tag Name[number]'
Any pointers on how the link displayed on the tag list page[^] works.

At present roughly half the unanswered questions are grey, indicating at least one downvote. If you look at the questions themselves they aren't brilliant, but I've seen a lot worse. Obviously I have no idea if this is a single user just downvoting anything he doesn't understand or a bunch of different users - since most of them have no comment as to why not even the OP has a clue what they have "done wrong".
Could a quiet word be had if it is a single user, asking them to at least explain politely what they feel the question needs? Just downvoting does nothing to help new members at all...

A very timely, excellent, suggestion, OriginalGriff !

I don't think they are being downvoted. I just think upvoted posts are appearing as grey. I saw a question the other day with three votes (all fives) that was grey. This bug has already been reported.

I just checked and all the ones I looked at were 1'ed.

I also noticed this yesterday and was wondering whether it should be mentioned. I would suggest something more than a quiet word, a Liverpool kiss perhaps?
Use the best guess

Maybe - it may just be a misunderstanding - if a quiet word doesn't fix it, then a more robust approach may be appropriate!

It seems this has been un-fixed now

Yay, people power. Or it was a genuine bug.

I decided that maybe the joke was stale then "fixed it", but then hated myself for fixing it so unfixed it.
So now it's fixed.

You see, this is what I like about this site, it still has a beating soul compare to, say, other well known development fora.

I forgot my password. In the sign in page, I clicked the appropriate button, typed my email address, but was then directed to a page which said "You need to enable cookies for this page to work".
I've tried this in Firefox and IE on Windows and Chrome on IOS, all with cookies enabled. Same problem.
Fortunately I then remembered my password so I could log in and post this bug report without having to create a new account

I have seen that. The cookie handling on this site seems half-baked recently. I have been getting several cookie-related errors, that occur with no real pattern.

Can you please hit this page: http://www.codeproject.com/script/misc/CookieTest.aspx[^] and let me know what it says.
There was an issue, weeks ago, where the message "Please ensure you have cookies enabled" was shown even if you had cookies enabled. It was purely a reminder, not a statement about the state of your cookies. That's been fixed. If, however, you are getting a message saying cookies aren't enabled, yet the cookie test page says you do have cookies enabled then let me know.

Hi Chris,
Iv'e just found out I can log in using G+ account, so I can actually log in here and reply. YAY
For reference, I'm the one who sent you the reply's via twitter as @shawty_ds
Anyway....
in response to your question, YES the cookies test page does tell me I have cookies enabled, but the password recovery page still tells me I do not.
That however is a moot point now that I discovered I can use my G+ account, but I'll still help you to debug the issue if need be.

Hey Peter,
Do you end up getting a temporary password sent anyway? As long as you pass the CAPTCHA test it's still going to send a password, even if it whines about cookies.

Hi Chris,
Nope... got nothing.
I located my old account it's under the name of "shawty_ds" I checked both email accounts that I would have used with that and nothing.

Hi Chris: RE Private message to me. Yes I do, and Iv'e checked. Got nothing.
Will go check again, just to make sure.

ha ha!!
So I checked again, and still nothing, but this time I decided to dig into Yahoos spam trap folder... and guess what I found hidden away deep in the bottom.
A whole bunch of password reset emails.
So am going to take the latest one, and change the password.
However, what to do now though is the question. I now have a new account set up under my Google+ login, so I may just scrap the old one. Is there any process for doing that?

The original signup email you got has a link to nuke your account, or I can nuke whatever account you wish.
I was guessing it would be an email issue. Thanks for following up on this. Mystery solved.

No probs at all. I'd like to think if it was the other way round and it was a Lidnug issue, you'd do the same for me/us
on the subject of Nuking things, just nuke my shawty_ds account it's years old anyway, from here on using my G+ login is great anyway, I'm trying to centralise all my social type accounts under one centralised login provider anyway
