Can you please hit this page: http://www.codeproject.com/script/misc/CookieTest.aspx[^] and let me know what it says.
There was an issue, weeks ago, where the message "Please ensure you have cookies enabled" was shown even if you had cookies enabled. It was purely a reminder, not a statement about the state of your cookies. That's been fixed. If, however, you are getting a message saying cookies aren't enabled, yet the cookie test page says you do have cookies enabled then let me know.

Hi Chris,
Iv'e just found out I can log in using G+ account, so I can actually log in here and reply. YAY
For reference, I'm the one who sent you the reply's via twitter as @shawty_ds
Anyway....
in response to your question, YES the cookies test page does tell me I have cookies enabled, but the password recovery page still tells me I do not.
That however is a moot point now that I discovered I can use my G+ account, but I'll still help you to debug the issue if need be.

Hey Peter,
Do you end up getting a temporary password sent anyway? As long as you pass the CAPTCHA test it's still going to send a password, even if it whines about cookies.

Hi Chris,
Nope... got nothing.
I located my old account it's under the name of "shawty_ds" I checked both email accounts that I would have used with that and nothing.

Hi Chris: RE Private message to me. Yes I do, and Iv'e checked. Got nothing.
Will go check again, just to make sure.

ha ha!!
So I checked again, and still nothing, but this time I decided to dig into Yahoos spam trap folder... and guess what I found hidden away deep in the bottom.
A whole bunch of password reset emails.
So am going to take the latest one, and change the password.
However, what to do now though is the question. I now have a new account set up under my Google+ login, so I may just scrap the old one. Is there any process for doing that?

The original signup email you got has a link to nuke your account, or I can nuke whatever account you wish.
I was guessing it would be an email issue. Thanks for following up on this. Mystery solved.

No probs at all. I'd like to think if it was the other way round and it was a Lidnug issue, you'd do the same for me/us
on the subject of Nuking things, just nuke my shawty_ds account it's years old anyway, from here on using my G+ login is great anyway, I'm trying to centralise all my social type accounts under one centralised login provider anyway

Hi Chris,
speak too soon.
So I log out of this account using my G+ loogin, and attempt to login with the 5 most recent password reset "passwords" sent to me.
First occasion I get "Password / UN don't match" - which is fair enough, so lets try the other reset emails..
Each one thereafter however, where the form is directly on your aspx page rather then the dropdown from the menu, I get:
No password was entered, please enter a password
Every-time I try to login.
|
|
|
|
|
So on this page[^], when you enter your email and a password, it says "no password was supplied"?
Hmm.

EMail me at my old yahoo address, I'll send you a screen shot it'll be easier
|
|
|
|
|
Interestingly enough, I refreshed it a few times, then re-tried and I got the "no match" message as expected.
I wonder if it's a weird caching issue of some description.
I know my ISP uses those net-cache appliances on it's border, and I know from past experience those things can cause a serious headache with things like AppFabric and similiar systems.

In the article I've just submitted, there's an additional "</textitemview>" appearing at the end of the first code block. I did not enter that, but it appeared in the preview. After switching back to HTML mode, it was suddenly there. So I removed it, but after publishing the article, it was back again! The code formatter seems to invent new content on its own... And it's not even in the same language.

I've noticed that after the edit, the bug is no longer visible. But it was there and somebody may want to fix it so that it doesn't startle others.
Do the CodeProject guys really format all the syntax highlighting by hand? Yesterday, I first thought that submitting an article is like in a blog system, but after reading through all of the documentation, I felt like they do the same hard work like I do on my website, only for lots of other people... And I have automatic syntax highlighting and file download snippets that do it all at request (I don't need to trigger it).

I'd love to say we hand colour everything by hand, but we don't. We have scripts that do that.
Our auto-language detection does need work, but the main problem was you had <...> in the code and it wasn't HTML encoded. Our scripts can partially deal with this, but sometimes they think you're adding special HTML and try and close open tags.

I... had... okay, you're right. Absolutely did not see that one while hand-encoding the stuff. I first thought I'd need to write that HTML file and started from the template, but eventually took a look at your submission "wizard" (form) and there was that WYSIWYG editor. Thanks for fixing it then.

That is the XML/HTML autocomplete thing jumping in. You have to use the < and > HTML character entities to prevent that. I still think that the XML/HTML autocomplete system should be turned OFF in code blocks.

Look at this page: Windows Runtime
Are you changing something or is it broken?
It had General and How-to sections. Now it only has Sponsored articles. And it looks like the most of recent related articles disappeared from this page.
Update: it looks like articles from this section can't be edited:
look at this message
I can't edit my article either. For this one I got message that I have no permission to edit it.
And for my and for some other articles from this section I don't see revisions history.

Well, looks like it has been fixed today. I still wonder whether you did something about that. It would be nice to have few words in reply to such bugs. Just to be aware of what happend.
Anyway, thanks

I'm wondering whether I should have another go at a d3js article, and if I do it would be nice to make the examples come alive. That would require the ability to add scripts to the page, like: <script src="http://d3js.org/d3.v3.min.js">
|
|
|
|
|
Embedding javascript is asking for serious trouble.
However, we could certainly work a way to embed script you've submitted to us and we've checked. That would be kind of neat.
