Before the last revamp of CodeProject, each article heading also contained the tags (like the article list on the CP home page).
Sample section: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/threads/#General[^]
Old format: http://wayback.archive.org/web/20120607095455/http://www.codeproject.com/KB/threads[^]
Depending on what I am working on, I might be looking for C++, C#, MFC or some other specific things and it makes it difficult to find that little piece of information that makes my day when the tags are not present in that overview.
I know I can filter the article list on tags, but I prefer not to as I might miss a related gem having a different tag. Besides, if I don't clear the filter manually, it seems to stay there when I navigate to other areas of the site.

Hi Chris,
In the last week or so I've been receiving 2 email notifications for every response posted on the forums.
I get the usual notification "CodeProject | Re: <Subject>" and then a duplicate "Re: <Subject>" without the leading 'CP'.
|
|
|
|
|
Hi Dan,
Could you please forward me the two email notifications? We'll take a look.
Thanks,

Hi Sean
What email address should I forward the notifications to?

Any progress Sean?
I've linked to a marked shot of my inbox[^] to show the extent of the problem. The pink items are the duplicates. Also note the individual duplicate thread sizes.

Apologies for the delay Dan, I think the dev team is a little swamped is all. I will gently prod them
Thanks,

Are you still getting these? I found an issue a while ago that I fixed but forgot to update this thread.

Today I had a question, and nobody answered. But I have solved it finally. I wanted to add my solution as it should be added, but I have not found "I have solved it myself" widget. So I added it as normal answer. And at that moment the missing widget appeared. So I posted my solution there too. But I couldn't delete my other answer. And that one was accepted automatically, even after rejecting it.
Oh, and by the way, by rejecting my normal answer, I have lost 200 points Why?
No comment, suggestion, or answer after 4 days... seem to be my very own problem...

I can see the 'Articles Needing Approval' again. Could a hamster look at that? I don't have the rep to do that.

When in doubt, take a look at the privileges tab on your profile page.
(I've opened up permissions a bit)

Privileges tab show I can delete questions in Q&A. I was able to see the Delete icon for questions till yesterday. Since this morning, I cannot see delete icon anymore. Surely a bug.

|
|
|

Confirmed. Not even site Protectors have the delete icon available.

I have been wondering about this the whole past three months:
Can we define a default signature somewhere in our settings or do we have to set it up every time we post a message from scratch (I currently use this method )?
I haven't found anything - even though I looked in the FAQ and every settings option of my account but there was nothing...

Go to your profile and click on My Settings. Click the Forums tab. Below the Default Paste options radio buttons is a Message Signature textbox.

I believer the CP "Quick Answer" feature is to help the genuine programmers who had been stuck on a problem or a bug, that they couldn't figure out how to solve it.
BUT,again and again I noticed that some people post "Quick Answer" question, that should have searched on the google in the first place for example request sourcecode c# for jenetic algoritm[^].
These people doesn't even have the technical capabilities to search their question on google, so why don't CP has a filter mechanism that, when people post "Quick Answer" question, they must post their code and without a piece of code, they are not allowed to post question.
What do others think about this?
Think! Don't write a line of code unless you absolutely need to.
|
|
|
|
|
And if I have a question requesting clarification about about a design pattern? Do I have to make up code for this? Perhaps I'm asking a question about a particular architecture I'm considering and I want to know if anyone can see any holes in the design I'm planning.
