Yes. It's old and slow. I've been meaning to upgrade, but other expenses keep popping up.

Well, just get a new laptop/desktop and you'll get a free OS upgrade with it. (not really free of course, but you know what I mean)

My cousin built his and has offered to help me build one. I just need to save some $$$ because I want a really pimped up desktop.

Does it fail to wrap on page load only? ie if you expand and then contract the window does the wrapping correct itself? I'm seeing a rendering bug in Chrome that occurs on page load.

Some recent change you guys did has introduced a few rendering problems in the forums too. On occasions if you resize the browser window, the forum gets completely messy and then if you resize it to back to its original size, it is still messy (although a little more readable). Happens with IE 9.

Ok, I'll take a screenshot the next time I get the error.

Yep. Resize rewraps it. I guess it's an OnLoad command problem.

I suspect that the spam filter forcing a spam-vote on my post also resulted in my account being de-activated.
Hi Nish Sivakumar,
Your account at The Code Project has been reported as "The member is a spammer" 1 time
and is now deactivated.

Thanks, that is nice!

I posted this to Chris L below, but posting this here again since it's relevant to this thread:
I've linked to my CodeProject profile page in multipe places as a single point link to all my CP articles. Now anyone clicking that profile link will just see a message saying that my account is deactivated. I think this is quite extreme. The post that caused all this contained a regular news-article link, and I can't imagine why that one link would result in such an extreme action.

Yep - the spam filter was accidentally re-enabled in an update so I've nuked it properly. I've emailed the authors of the spam filter and they have suggestions on how to improve the accuracy, but frankly I just aren't seeing the benefit of an automated system after all of this. Great idea, way too risky.

You could add a check to exclude people who've been members here for say 3+ years and haven't really shown signs of being spammers.

We still get spam from old accounts. Not often, true, but it happens.

Well, then couldn't you just add more checks? Member for 2 years. Posted 3 articles that are rated 3.5 or higher. Rep score is 10,000 or more. Surely, you can identify people who have very very little chance of spamming here.

Yes, we can, but then what about all the other false positives on new accounts? Just because someone doesn't have as much rep or time on the site as you doesn't mean having their account nuked is any less frustrating. We have to be fair.

I agree. If I signed up to a new website and posted a comment, and then receievd an email saying I was banned for spamming, I'd certainly be pissed off.
So, I guess there is no clean way of doing this.
