I doubt you guys tested in Opera, but the Facebook/Google+ popups just get to the OpenAuth page and display only the title. I had to switch to Chrome to link the accounts.

Opera. Ah, Opera.
Here's how to get it to work in opera
• press Ctrl-F12 to open the Preferences dialog,
• and select Advanced on the top tabs
• and Security on the left navigation menu.
• Then click ‘Trusted Websites…’
This will bring up the Trusted Websites dialog.
• Select the ‘Secure Internal Hosts’ tab
• Add ‘www.codeproject.com’
• Add ‘www.rootadmin.com’
Click ‘Close’ and then ‘OK’.
Now Facebook and Google can redirect back to our site when they are finished authorizing the user.

Just added a comment to a Q&A solution. Refreshed the page and it didn't appear so I did it again and then the first one appeared. I deleted the second one (which was still there after a refresh) Not a big deal, I suppose but I still got a rep point for each comment. Will the second point (quite rightly) be removed or is this a 'feature'?

Occasionally when searching a forum, the search list will contain very old posts that can not be loaded. You end up on an empty forum page with a message indicating a heavy load and the page can not be loaded. Would it be possible to include in the search list, a View Thread link, that would then load just the complete thread. The user would still have to manually find the correct post. Just something that struck me today with some searches I was doing. Thanks.

I am unable to get any permalinks in the lounge at the moment.
If I open The Lounge the address bar in my browser updates to reflect this but from there on it doesn't change to reflect clicking a thread or a message within a thread.
Win 7 x64
Firefox 12.0 (not the beta branch)
I just tried in this forum and got the same result.
It's probably my browser. If not it'll be me, it usually is.

Not sure what you mean "I am unable to get any permalinks"
There is an actual "permalink" link in the footer of each message. The (clickable) subject of each message is itself a link, but clicking it doesn't cause a page refresh (and hence an address bar update) because we simply open the (already downloaded) message instead of doing a full page refresh. However, if you have Javascript disabled then you'' note that clicking on the subjects does cause a page refresh (and hence an address bar update).
So: for a permalink you can click the Permalink link at the footer of each message or you can right lick on each subject and choose "copy link address".

I was using the permalink link at the bottom of the message. This used to put a permalink address in the address bar, it no longer does so.
I will check the javascript settings even though I have not changed them and, as I say, it used to work with no problems.
The right-click tip is useful, thanks.
[Edit]
I have just noticed that immediately after I posted this message the permalink link was highlighted as already visited, that was without my having done anything other than click the 'Post Message' button

Any chance you could right click, do a "view source" and email me the content of the page you're viewing (chris@...). It sounds extremely weird.

This is just so I have a message that I have not tried the permalink link on.

First off, sorry if this is a repost.
Now, to the bug.
It seems that whenever I clear my search filter, after a short amount of time it gets reset.
Is this some kind of bug or am I missing something completely obvious?
public class SysAdmin : Employee
{
public override void DoWork(IWorkItem workItem)
{
if (workItem.User.Type == UserType.NoLearn){
throw new NoIWillNotFixYourComputerException(new Luser(workItem.User));
}else{
base.DoWork(workItem);
}
}
}

Is this in Quick Answers?

Site wide. I set a filter in my profile some time ago, and if I delete it, it will soon reappear.
public class SysAdmin : Employee
{
public override void DoWork(IWorkItem workItem)
{
if (workItem.User.Type == UserType.NoLearn){
throw new NoIWillNotFixYourComputerException(new Luser(workItem.User));
}else{
base.DoWork(workItem);
}
}
}

I'm not seeing any filter set in your profile, but it does look like you've selected "VB developer" on the homepage. Is "VB" the filter you keep seeing?

Yes, it is.
EDIT: I haven't replied until today because of finals (I finished last week), moving out, and the fact that GMail is acting strange (Giving me server errors).
public class SysAdmin : Employee
{
public override void DoWork(IWorkItem workItem)
{
if (workItem.User.Type == UserType.NoLearn){
throw new NoIWillNotFixYourComputerException(new Luser(workItem.User));
}else{
base.DoWork(workItem);
}
}
}
|
|
|

Another thing, if I select something else (like C#) on the homepage, a filter for that will be set.
public class SysAdmin : Employee
{
public override void DoWork(IWorkItem workItem)
{
if (workItem.User.Type == UserType.NoLearn){
throw new NoIWillNotFixYourComputerException(new Luser(workItem.User));
}else{
base.DoWork(workItem);
}
}
}

This is by design.
The topic you choose on the homepage is assumed to be what you want the site to be filtered by.

I am not seeing it listed in my profile. Also the tag is missing in the "CodeProject Member Types" page.

It's been deprecated. We had all sorts of plans for it but we never had the time to give them justice.
I'm sure it will be back one day.

Hi
I've added blog feed and I have one post marked with CodeProject category but unfortunately no blog entry was discovered after blog feed pull.
Can you give me some reasons why this is happening?
I use BlogEngine.NET 2.0.0.36.
EDIT:
Things just got more weird...
I received an email saying that my feed was consumed and one article was found. But when I checked it on CodeProject site I got this info: "No articles found for this Technical Blog."

In BlogEngine it is quite easy to have clean markup provided that you remember to never copy text from formatted sources, such as browser or Word, directly to post editor. If you copy formatted text, some crazy, wild and messy things will be lurking in your HTML
Back to main topic though - check out this page:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/Articles/BlogArticleList.aspx?afid=3970[^]
the message "No articles found for this Technical Blog" is still visible

I can see it[^].
Do you have a search filter set?
