We haven't defined the syntax for Pascal. Let me see if I can hunt down a quick reference. It's been too long...

I'll reply to this message with a test message.

How to repro:
Post a message with this body (without the spaces in the smiley of course).

In the ALT text for the image I'm adding characters that the system is mistaking for another smiley. Just need to update it so it is a little more sensible.

Thanks, I read that as "go live soon, Nish" but was disappointed that it was just soonish.
Thanks though

When a message gets updated, does the OP get another email about that? It doesn't make sense to update the date/time of the thread, but there should be some way of notifying readers that a message has been modified.

OP meaning original poster of the message being updated?
In this case, no. The only time sending the author of a message an email saying their message was edited was if someone other than them edited it, which is an admin-only thing and so rare.

Chris Maunder wrote: OP meaning original poster of the message being updated?
Yes. Just understood that. I guess OP is the person you're replying to.
So it's better to post a new reply than to modify an existing one.
|
|
|
|
|
Ah - so when you say "modify a message" you meant "modify a message that is a reply to the OP's message".
Again, we don't, but I'm going to add a TODO

Exactly! In that case, I'll stick to modifications.

Is it permitted to have a mouse rollover image in an article? For example, to display an image, and then to show a popup with some info when the mouse hovers.
|
|
|
|
|
Yes.

We don't allow any JavaScript due to the security issue involved. However, staff editors can add script to articles, but we don't like to because if/when an article we edit is then edited by the author (they reach status or are given the keys to the car) then we'd have to strip the script thus potentially removing existing functionality from the article.
It's also a task that, for us, is beyond the scope of automatically screening for malicious JavaScript.
However: your question isn't about adding JavaScript - your question is about adding pop-up annotations to images. This can be done in 2 ways
1. We formalise an <annotate> tag that allows you to add a popup annotation
2. You take a look at the HTML/CSS we use on our pop-ups. These are pure CSS and so are available to all.

I thought you needed javascript to detect the mouse hover?
