I was under the impression that it would delete the entire thread (including all the replies). It did not!
I just read the entire thing to make sure I know all the rules here. Thanks for your explanation though!

Tell your instructor he's a giant anal pore (if you like, you can copy this message and sen it to him. Artificial votes for an article mean nothing, and only result in better articles NOT being selected. If I were the admin, I would eliminate your article from consideration, not because of something you did, but because of the misguided actions of your idiot instructor. If you have any integrity at all, you would request that your article be un-nominated.

While I do agree with your statement I don't really want to be un-nominated as this was my first article here and I was delighted to see it being nominated. Sucks :X

It was nominated based on false recognition - by your own admission. As a result, it shouldn't be considered.
Yeah, it sucks that this has occurred, but it's your instructor's actions that created the situation.

Why would it be nominated based on a false recognition. I did submit the article weeks before my presentation and It was submitted just as any other article. I did get the Average Score of 4.82/5 (29 votes) completly fair.
Then again, I do agree that it's unfair to the other nominees. But i'm getting kind of tired of paying "the price" for stuff I did not commit. I'd rather suggest a recount of my votes and just remove the double IP ones.
I'm grateful and quite frankly a little shocked myself that it got nominated as best C# article op Apr 2010. With that said it would be great if you could win it, but I couldn't care less if i didn't.

That happens everyday - to all of us, and yeah, we're tired of it too.

Well that may be, but this was actually a big deal to me. I don't very often get people really respecting my work. (Most people I know don't understand it!). Maybe on the next article then...

5!
I have learnt that you can not make someone love you, all you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.

I never said you did!
I do agree with what he said - the article should be withdrawn from consideration if you know that fraudulent voting has been occurring.

Ye I know but i just wanted to put it out there
*Sigh* sucks! Do you actually get a little note on top if you were nominated and did not win or only if you win? Because I actually would like that to show up
In all fairness I do believe that other articles in the competition are better and deserve to win it more than me. I just wanted to see where I'd end up in the end but I guess that's not a possibility now :S

Surely the answer is obvious.
Reply to the chain mail and ask people not to artificially vote the article high. If they wish to join CodeProject then awesome, and if they wish to vote, even better, but ask everyone to vote on each article on the articles' merits.

I already did this so thats cool. I wouldn't have had any problems with it if they actually read all 10 articles and then voted. It's just that I don't want to win it this way.

For what it's worth, I think you've done exactly the right thing here, and that's admirable. (Let's be honest, had you kept quiet there's a fair chance no one would ever have known).
I would agree with John to the extent that unfair voting isn't right and does cause potentially more deserving articles to be glossed over, but insisting that the article be withdrawn is a bit extreme. You've highlighted the problem and it should be easy enough for Chris/CP to remove the votes from very new members. You got the nomination on your own, and totally deserve it in my opinion, it looks like a good article.
Whatever the outcome here, keep writing.
Simon

Thanks - we're on it.
Looks like a transient database load issue, but you guys do not need to be bothered with that message.

I'm having the same problem with ANY CP page. I would cut and paste, but the dialog that pops up won't let me. The highlights, though:
Response denied by WatchGuard HTTP proxy
Reason: header 'Content-Type' denied rule='Default' value='application/json; charset=utf-8'
Method: POST
Host: www.codeproject.com
Path: /script/AdServe/WebServices/AdServices.aspx/RecordImpressions
Hope this helps.

Feh!
I don't know if the problem was with CP itself or with the agency that provides the ads but in any event, the problem has been resolved.

Hi Chris,
In profile page,we show the count of messages posted with some title, like in my case its "Regular".Don't you think it must be updated as "Personality" as the count has gone more than 1000?
Thanks in advance!!

If I remember correctly that status is updated once a week only. (don't know when exactly your message count went above 1000 but that could be the reason)
Of course with the new reputation system I don't know if it's still being updated or not.
