Don't do that. If the moderator rejects the first copy for some reason, they'll also reject the second copy. And posting the same message multiple times will make it look more suspicious.

Hopefully the UI tells them that their message is in the moderation queue. Else there is no reason why they'd not want to try again.

To add to what Richard says, it will also annoy moderators, who then have to follow you around and wipe up your mess behind you ...

So I guess we can all agree that if system allows registered and logged users with some reputation to post messages, which are not flagged as spam, this will make things easier.
|
|
|
|

No, the system looks at the message, and uses heuristic and other processes to estimate how likely it is that a message could be spam. It doesn't "target" members, unless they show a history of "spammer-like" activity. Heck, it sent me to moderation for a while but happily let me approve them ...
Just post "normal" messages for a while, and it'll get used to you and moderation will reduce and / or stop. But start posting dodgy links and you will find it is remarkably effective, even if you have a "good posting history"!
It may seem like a pain, but before it was introduced we had problems with flood spam - to the point where you couldn't see anything else - and the originators keep on trying most days to get their cr@p though. Unsuccessfully.

Your non-English name may be adding to your spam-probability-score.

You actually can be pretty close. The name with Cyrillic letters, which I use, is kind of our version of Ordinary Joe, although little bit more funny, i.e. so maybe when some other people in other forums use it, they can actually be posting spam. And from there the spam score here increases as well.

I noticed something strange in my reputation history:
"-1 Debator Post a General Forum Message (undo) Forum Message yat"
"yat"? Clicking on this message that I allegedly posted, I get redirected to Matthew's profile with a ?msg query parameter[^]. However, I'm sure I did not post anything in his message board, or a message with subject "yat" anywhere else.
I don't care about that one point but I am curious now, why is this record there?

That was a message of mine I deleted. I'll look into what went wrrooongggggg.

How do I find a user by his display name?
I would like to ask him/her to release "JSOP" so I can rightfully claim ownership.

Because the username is the same as the display name in this case, it can be easily found through the URL: jsop - Professional Profile[^]
Unfortunately I think you're out of luck if you wanted to contact a 15-year old account without posts
|
|
|
|

Well, one of the local CP gods could wave his magic wand and change the display name to "fakejsop". If the account is 15 years old with no activity, I don't think the owner will mind.

Call me a cynic, but do people do this because the re-homed Soap Box thread continues to appear on the "discussions" tab on the home page along with other Lounge threads?

Now that the profile "report" and "follow" options are on the right-hand edge of the window, the pop-ups are being displayed beyond the edge of the document.
Since the pop-ups disappear as soon as the mouse moves away, it's not possible to scroll horizontally to see the full pop-up.

I still feel this is a retrograde step, despite comments by OG and Chris.

Hello, I tried to answer to a post in the Lounge a couple of minutes ago (circa 8:06 GMT) and when I pressed "Send" it simply vanished.
I reposted it and it went through - the second post is here[^] and it has the same content as the previous one.
Could it be possible to have a pop up appear when a message is put in moderation queue? I don't know if it is in moderation and I wouldn't want to duplicate messages in the queue in case it ends up there.

You have no messages currently in moderation, and if it had gone there it would appear in the Lounge with a "under moderation" subject instead of your text - if rejected it would have been "Message closed" unless specifically deleted. You do have your 08:07 message but there is no sign of another anywhere I can see.
This hasn't happened to me for a while, but there was a spate of 'em, mostly with QA answers a few weeks ago IIRC.
