I've noticed this for the past few weeks and wondered if it was just me. So I'm reporting the 'bug' to find out if it's just me or if it really isn't working...
Whenever I vote posts now I no longer see the "You voted X on this post" after I vote. I'm always able to see the voting numbers. It doesn't actually let me vote again, but it leaves me confused sometimes wondering if I already voted on the post or trying to remember what I voted...
Did you guys remove that functionality?

Now that you return to the page - does it still say that you voted?
I'm still not sure it's CP's problem. It could be a problem on my end.. like cookies or something. I'm using FF2.0.0.7

Once you've refreshed the page it no longer shows the votes you made. It's always been this way

Remembering a vote for every message for every login, can be a daunting task. But I think Chris and Co can comment on whether they have any trick to address the requirement too.

We store partial vote info currently, and in the upcoming system we store every vote for every member.
Storing is easy. Retrieving the data efficiently is the trick

Yeah, it worked fine for me. I voted a 1 and it came back and said You voted: 1.

I get the initial confirmation also. I just doesn't persist across page refreshes.. it used to.

It's always told you that you have already voted. Putting in a lookup like this, for every post on the page, would add extra weight to an already beat up SQL Server. This means that the check has to be done at the time a vote is attempted.

We should have a section for scripting languages, especially latest / greatest such as Ruby. The format of The Code Project is excellent and it would be great to see it extended.

petition MS (successfully) to add Ruby.net to VS08. CP is a MS centric site, until MS sells a ruby compiler it won't be supported here.

IronRuby is on the way, following in the footsteps of IronPython. These are both MS built. That should be enough reason, no?

For more then two years , I am used to recieving the Insider in the morning.Everyday @ work I enjoy reading developer/Industry news before I start working.Now adays I am always recieving it in the afternoon.Whats going on
