It's been promoted to an Article.
We don't support the addition of STYLE blocks in articles. We specifically work to provide a consistent look and feel for all articles.
Buttons don't work in Chrome? Hmm. They were working for me the other day but I'll take a look.

Oh, does that happen automatically when I use "Update your article"?
The style was added to my other blog post so I know it's possible (although unfortunately, in the CodeProject version, the two sidebars were just slightly too close together, producing a glitch... I wonder if that glitch has a name.)
This time I had to use Firefox just to post this message (now I'm on a different computer; on the other computer I was able to post a message, but the buttons in the Article Editor didn't work.)

Yeah, that was me Use class="sidebar-right" on a DIV to get that effect.

Earlier, when I visited the "My Settings" page, the connection was totally encrypted. But now, Firefox says "Connection Partially Encrypted". I wouldn't like to enter a new password if the page is just partially encrypted instead of totally.
By design or bug?

Before logging out I had all e-mail notifications disabled for both Discussion forums, and Newletters & Emails.
After logging back in, they are all enabled, surprise.
Other settings, signature, e-mail subs, etc., seem to be unchanged.
Of course it was a thrill to get an e-mail forwarded from Pete O'Hanlon
thanks, Bill

It is quite an illusion to imagine that one adjusts to reality essentially without the use of language and that language is merely an incidental means of solving specific problems of communication or reflection." That might have been me mucking about. Please reset to whatever you wish those settings to be, and then throw something at me if it's still not working.

For a while now (a couple of months), I've seen that the forums sometimes redirects to the next page for no reason. It usually happens while I'm on a different tab. It also seems to have its moods: for weeks, I wouldn't see this problem at all, then for a day or two it would happen repeatedly. Is this a known problem? Any idea what's causing it?
I'm using Firefox on Windows 7.

Have you been hitting Cltr+Shift+right arrow accidentally?

I don't think so, but it is possible. I'll try to pay more attention if it happens again.
Also, sorry for taking so long to reply. I've been away from the internet for a while.

Alright, it happened again. I did not press Ctrl+Shift+right arrow , but I did press Ctrl+PgDn , which I often do to switch tabs. Repeating this a few times in a row, I see that Ctrl+PgDn navigates to the next page, while Ctrl+PgUp navigates to the previous page (unless I am on page 1).

Chris + Co,
Have you made up any new banners with the new bob header & styles etc that can be used for linking back to code project or Codeproject.tv or rootadmin etc. (or even Developer Media)
I am in the middle of rebuilding my website and only have the old ones, and could do with the refresh.
Cheers,
Dave

I try to read articles sometimes on my Windows Phone 8.0. It does not work properly, the rows don't wrap when using the IE browser in my phone.
Are you aware of this? Something you are working on?
|
|
|
|
|
No, not aware, but I'll ask Matthew to check. He has the office Windows Phone.

I have checked on my win phone 7.5 and found that if I have my browser set to Mobile mode the layout is terrible and the font too small. However, in Desktop mode, or viewing full site, everything is beautiful. Probably a simple css issue.
I have my phone in Desktop mode, as the mobile experience on many sites is poor, and does not make use of the size of the WP display
|
|
|
|
|
Everything isn't beautiful, I'm afraid. The popups on the vote up/vote down don't appear on messages, and the options to Vote abuse/spam disappear before you can possibly click on them.

|
|
|
|
See my post[^] where I explained what I have to do to up-/down-vote on forum messages when I am on my Windows Phone 8.
A little further down in the thread, I explain what I have to do to activate items on the hover-popup menus.
I thought about posting this as a Tip, but it could quickly get outdated due to a change on CP or in the WP8 browser.

I always view the sites in Desktop mode when I am using my WP8.
The main issue I have when reading articles has to due with the font size on text formatted with the plain code tag (var) . The text is very small compared to the normal text and I have to zoom in to read it and then zoom back out to continue reading the article. I would love to see that being fixed.

I do not have this problem when reading the articles on my Lumia 920. It generally works just fine. Are you loading the site in Mobile or Full Site mode?
I did see an article waiting to be approved a few days ago where the lines did not wrap correctly - I was looking at it on my phone, but I was not able to get to my PC to check if it was a problem there as well.

The problem is only in Mobile mode.

Can you please try now?
