Hi developers,

I am looking for some guidance here. I plan to take the MCTS exam for SQL Server 2008 but I do not know how to best prepare for the exam. I could not find any books that cover the entire course or syllabus for this exam.

My exams code are 70-432, 70-433, 70-448.

I was also wondering if taking such exams would be good for my career. Please offer me some tips and suggestions on approaching this certification.

Practice, practice, practice!

There are actually several good books however they are in English. I have used "Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Administration" by Tom Carpenter, but it really depends on the style of writing you learn best with.

Good luck.

Marked as 5, proposed as answer.
You don't know how to prepare for exams??? Are you kidding me? How did you graduate from school?

If you can't prepare yourself for an exame like this, you have no hope of being a successfull developer since, you know, you can't teach yourself anything.

I believe it's a language issue. He is asking for tips and guidance. I've edited his question so it's clearer.

You should have seen the original version of the question before Nish rewrote it.
I have quite a few certifications and have always found that it usually takes 2 books to cover the topics. Usually a single book will not cover everything because it is too much.

Then as Richard posted in the comments, you need to practice for the exams. Many people try to do them without the background knowledge of the topic. Work with the topic and actually do what they are saying in the books and play around with the topic as well.

For example with SQL server, make some databases, query the information, see if you can get to the execution plans on some queries and understand them.

Your multi-book suggestion is a good one. I used three books for my 2005 certification.
I m not having much information for this particular exam, but you can get more detailed information through this link

Hope this will help !!!!
