Hello,

In our company we use linked server for select proper data from Oracle database to SQL Server (using EXECUTE or OPENQUERY). Sometimes (especially when query is long and complicated) this operation takes lot of time.

Have You got any idea how to speed up this connection or replace linked server with some other solution?

There are a whole bunch of solutions. Easiest is try to modify whatever it is that generates the lengthy query's and cut it down. Failing that you have a more expensive option which is a migration between both systems so that you use one unified system.

If anyone else has anything to say on this I'd be interested to hear it because at work we're often crossing between two systems and the difference is...annoying....to put it at its mildest.

unfortunatelly I can't cut some queries... they are very long, but executing in any Oracle front-end software gives me results in less than 1 sec...
