There are not so many accountants here, but why don't you squeeze the answer out of those who are supposed to use your module in the end? I'm sure they can tell you best about what they need and how they want it.

No-one knows any concept of Commerce, even (and above all) accountants.

The same as they are for any accounts dept: Monies in / monies out.

Think about it (it's your homework, after all) - a college is a company. It has income (student fees, grants, any government allocation, bequests and so forth). It has costs (premises, maintenance, equipment, personnel and so forth)

The accounts dept does everything you would expect a normal accounts dept to do, with the exception that they have to deal with students as well, poor buggers.

thank you sir....
Are you sitting comfortably?

Do you have several days to listen intently?

There are several areas.

Basic Bookkeeping:
Reconciliations
Ledgers
Credit Control
Prepayments
Accruals
Depreciation
Sales Tax
Company Tax
Payroll
Share Issuance
Commercial Insurances
Write offs
Write Downs
Write Backs
Period Ends
Balance Sheets
Profit & Loss
Record Keeping
Tax Compliance

Then you start getting into the more complex areas of Management Accounting.
Budgeting
Market Positioning
Forward Planning
Growth Potentials
Mark-ups
Strategy
Ethical awareness
Product cost analysis
Overheads (Fixed) Analysis
Overheads (Variable) Analysis
Performance evaluation
Risk Management
TSC's
Life Cycle analysis
Cost Benefits
Cost/Volume/Profit analysis
Client Profitability

This list continues for several pages, and is by no means complete, nor is it in depth, for each of the above is only the header to some very complex and arcane knowledge kept secret by a shadowy organisation that casts spells and curses upon those who would shine light upon the darkest of the dark arts.
Where numbers are fluid and half-truths are the currency.

5'ed!
This is a programming website. I assume you're creating a project as a school assignment, so there will be people at your college who would know this stuff. We're all programmers, just like you, and the question is off topic in any case.

If you're writing something that is going to be used in real life, then you have a client, and they know what they want from such a module, and our guesses are unlikely to fully meet their needs.
