Hi,

Can you provide brief idea about the Service Account which is created for SQL Server while installing the exe.

1.My question is if same service account is used for all the three service i.e.,
Database Engine,Sql Agent and Full Text Search,What will Happen?
or we need to create separate account for each service?

2.If there are into instance is installed in same machine in that case
we can use service account or different?

Please help out in this regard's.

Thanks,
Chetan

My understanding is that the service account is a windows account/security principle.

You should therefore be able to use the same security principle for all SQL services without causing clashes within the operating system. As it's no different to a user running multiple application within a console session. We have used the same for database services, sql agent and reporting services.

It's advised that you use a different security principle for a different instance as theoretically if you use the same user, one instance will have the ability to access the other. Although that kind of hack is not something I've attempted and I don't believe this is enforced by the installer.
