I've already made it work by using AutoLoad(), but I'm having problems with using CButton::Create().

After calling the button's Create(...) method, you must call its ShowWindow(SW_SHOW); method to actually show the window.

hello again,
once an application has been compiled, you can pretty much delete the source code and it will work fine.
how about if i need to get the code for a certain application back - i deleted it by accident.
how can i get the code behind a compiled working application.

I'm not sure about other languages apart from C++, but compilation is a one way process. There is no undo process.
There are programs that allow you to build messy assembly language interpretation of a given EXE file, but the 'original' source code used to build the program is unobtainable.
Why in god's name would anyone want to build an app, then delete the source code anyway, especially if future fixes may be necessary?

I'm not a Mallory personality then. I still have source listings and floppies from my first excursions into programming (Z80 assember and DBAS12 BASIC from an RML-380Z microcomputer), as well as everything in between. I learned very quickly about 'backup' and source control, which has saved my behind on a couple of occasions.

no way to get the source code back in C/C++, because the compiler performs some optimisations on the code.
i remember that Borland C++ 3 could do so with a debug-Built project, but i don't think it works with a binary code compiled by Visual C++. And even less in Release Mode...

I use several true color icons for my main menu. However, I didn't know how to add my customized disabled icons to menu item so that the program can use my disabled icons instead of automatically change its color in its own way. By other words, how can I handle the icons in front of each menu item in popular circumstances as normal and disabled. Thanks so much.

would be one way, but it is a bit clunky. I'd recommend serialization, but without knowing more about what you are doing, that's a tentative recommendation.

Dont you need MFC for Serialization?
This little program has to be platform independant.
What do you need to know to help me? This is not a special project, I am only learning. I haved programmed for more than 5 years MFC. But soon I will work for project, that is platform independant, so I try to learn such topics and their problems before.
Serialization with MFC is easy, but how do I realize ist without MFC?

Yes (it might be possible, albeit more difficult, outside the scope of MFC, but I've never tried). Your initial post did not mention platform independence, which is why I suggested serialization.

I need help coding. I am new to C++ and learning.
i have a dialog box with a "connect" button that i need to code to bring/call a .exe application.
this connect button is connected to an edit box and whatever is in the edit box (ip address), that's the address the .exe application is supposed to connect to.
i hope it is not confusing, cause it is for me.

prefer a CIPAddressCtrl to be sure the IP Address you type in is valid.
then, open a socket, connect it to that ip with whatever port you want...
