Hi All,
I think ![Green Alien | [Alien]](https://codeproject.global.ssl.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/alien.gif) permits we lowly members to contact each other with Personal Messages, but I can't seem to find the link to do it, the member has switched off the option or not made it available, LabViewStuff come in please!

We can enable disable it. On each post, there is a check box to allow private email replies.

LabViewStuff has the option to allow that turned off in his profile, so you can;t do it.
Instead, reply to one of his messages, asking him to contact you via the "Email" option in the message.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Yes, that is true. I meant more so in this message the OP could have used that and then would have "heard him calling."

View the member's profile that you need to contact. Just above the summary in the profile, you'll see their CodeProject alias starting with an @ symbol.
If you copy that and paste it (exactly as it is, without any other characters before and after it), then that member will receive an email notification from CP that they were referred to in a post.

You can reference a person in a post an they'll get an email, I believe like this:

Hi Andy,
I am trying to get in touch as I may have to start using Lab View for some stuff and from my brief play with the trial download it seems a little odd. It's one of these thing where the demo wouldn't let me do what I wanted to do with a serial port. Have a look at the post above. Please don't feel as if I want you to be a full wiki on the subject, at times it's useful to have a human to ask rather than Google.

Are you using any specific third party VI or using the inbuilt VISA communication modules?

This is the problem I have no idea, I'm guessing the in built stuff, the only thing I know is that is in Labview... I don't even have it installed yet.
