I feel that their unfamiliarity with the technology that they ask about hinders them from knowing how to ask the right question. Sometimes, you have to coax it out of them.
Often, the language barrier doesn't help either.

And sometimes I feel like saying Yout don't know? And you've got a degree in what?

OK - how about something more sincere and less dismissive, such as:
"After reading your question I pondered what the future of programming holds. I realized then that the only true answer is that I walk outside and step in front of a fast-moving vehicle. Bye.."

From what I read there, a whole lot of others post the same. They just use a bunch of words and incorrect code to say it.

@melchizidechh - you're up for today as you solved it yesterday: The Lounge[^]
Which means you were supposed to post the CCC for today. It's kinda late now, so we'll move your go to tomorrow, eh?

Which is why I don't post answers to the CCC... 'kinda late' is a relative term. It is just after 8:00 AM here.

Yes - but the rules say "as close to 09:00 UTC as possible" so that everyone who is interested gets the same amount of time, in theory. If we converted the planet to a Discworld, then we could be fairer, but then we'd have problems with .404 Bookworms, demonic infestations, OAP barbarian hordes, and so forth...

Sorry, it's been ages since I was on CP, I didn't know the rules.
I'll come up with something for tomorrow. 0900 GMT eh?

That's OK - the WSO CCC replaces the original CCC when DD stopped visiting.

He is apparently still alive (and ranting on Farcebook) but he departed these shores in an attempt to distance himself from his views and actions when he stood for election to a safe Tory seat about two years ago. It was not successful - he posted a rant about gypsies on Farcebook and managed a massive swing to Labour when the rest of the country swung to the Tories... Oops.

Apparently it's a hugely successful business LingsCars[^] and maybe the website is deliberately awful to stand out.
I think I've been doing it wrong all these years. Time to throw out all the books on UI / UX and just throw the kitchen sink at my next project

More common sense then genius. Advertising and all that goes with that, is what that site is all about.
Keep your UI/UIX books, they are still relevant.

In the US there is (was?) a newspaper for the theater trade called VARIETY.
There's an old saw about what actors, etc., felt: "I don't care what you write about me, as long as you spell my name correctly."
Fit's perfectly - who'd ever want to bother looking at the site? Now it's forwarded all over the world because of look - and isn't that the point - traffic and name recognition? !
