All humans are taught how to use sarcasm. Some humans manage to withhold being sarcastic. Last I heard, all programmers who count (effectively write new code) are human. Therefore I would say that "All programmers are sarcastic" is a false statement. Only 99.999% of them are sarcastic. (That includes me, but I think in this post I'm just sardonic. Didn't revisit that last word in a dictionary so I hope its usage is correct.)

Not normal programmers, just the extroverts ....ooops, and those who learned that sarcasm is the best way to get people to leave them alone so they can build what those inconsiderate users, with all of their useless requirements and suggestions, really need.

What is a picture of a thousand words worth?
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

No, he died years ago of exposure. I was thinking of my friends cat Fred. Nice cat, actually, as cats go...

More than a thousand words, obviously.
You also get information of the font(s) which are used, their sizes and attributes. If you are lucky, you also gain some insight into the message the artist wanted to send you by choosing those 1000 words and the way he presented them.
You may even get the message that being an artist may be more profitable than what you are doing right now. at least as long as sufficiently rich and gullible people believe to be drawing endless streams of information out of your works of art.
Edit: That leads to another deep thought:
Are you still a fraud when all your artwork goes away for a lot of money and deep artistic meaning is discovered in every one of them?

My son is an artist and recently got a commission for a piece of art that took him about three hours to complete, about $15 in materials and he sold for $1,500! That's nearly $500 an hour which is definitely more than I get paid to write code.
This sounds great but it doesn't happen on a regular basis so he also now works for Microsoft - a new job starting this week.
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

This is my impression too, very few can actually live of the art alone, no matter how much a painting or whatever is sold for.

Trust me, I have been through this situation.

A thousand words. The content of the picture has no bearing on its worth. It is the picture itself that is worth a thousand words.

Well, half a picture is NOT worth a 500 word essay.

The saying never actually mentions how much a picture is worth exactly.
So a picture of a thousand words, still a picture, is worth more than a thousand words. I guess.
