Germany goes from Holy Roman Empire, to shattered mess for centuries, to Prussia, shattered mess, separation and finally Germany. Looks like the least stable country in Europe.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

B: So now you're the boss. You're the King of Bob.
Bob, what do you think?

My favourite Pseudo-Irish comedy/musical... Fred Astaire has never been better (and Tommy Steele worse)...

Here in Sweden, we've had a very poor winter. Hardly any snow at all... It has been a VERY uncharacteristic winter!
And now when the birds are returning prematurely because of the warm weather, and the spring flowers have been conned into bloom, and they girls have started unpacking --- NOW snow is pouring from the sky!

Its all been dumped in the Alps. There is shot loads of snow here. Just had the most epic ski week of mu life in Risoul, over a meter of sow in the resort, 3 meters on top. Epic!

Just kidding.
Seems like there has been more snow than usual in the States as well. Personally, I'm sorry that they got it and not us. I like the snow. It's a real good incentive to stay indoor in the warm and cosy living room and drink hot toddies... And it looks so nice when you look out the window...

Yup. We've had significantly more snow than normal every month this winter. The only thing we haven't had was a single storm dumping enough snow that I couldn't drive in to work. (I did work from my kitchen table once due to ice; but that's not the same. Snow's fun; freezing rain just sucks all around.)

After 3 months of almost zero rainfall the skies opened up on Sunday. Singapore was starting to look like home, wide brown land, well it can never be "wide" but was certainly brown, with cracks. 2 days of wet and there is already a sheen of new grass overlaying the brown. Ah well life returns to normal, hot and hot & wet.

We still haven't had any here in Isan (NE Thailand) and it doesn't look like we will be getting rain any time soon.
Glad to hear that you are getting some.
We are pretty far inland so we won't start to get some rain until the SW Monsoon starts and even then we will have to wait a while until the storms travel this far.

Ours is not supposed to be seasonal, it usually rains almost daily, once a week at the outside, so a couple of months is extraordinary.
I still find it awesome to watch a true tropical thunderstorm marching across the city.

Our's is definitely seasonal. We depend on the SW Monsoon (from the Indian Ocean) and then after that the NE Monsoon (from the South China Sea) to give us enough rain to grow rice for the year.

It's funny to hear all around about strange winters...
We had a big (near to meter) snow very early and after that an almost summer of two months than last week we got a strong rain...
