I cycle a lot too, rain doesn't bother me apart from making things a bit more slippery... Singapore ... rain is actually refreshing.
Lightning though, well adds excitement. Tall trees and lightning, perhaps not.
Seems most Asians are scared of the rain, few drops and they run away. I tell the kids it's because Asians melt in the rain, but being only half Asian they've got my waterproof genes.
A common question I get from the Asians (re cycling) is "what happens when it rains."
My answer: "I get wet." Usually shuts them up.

Speaking as a cyclist myself, that's not the only thing a stand of trees is good for. Especially when you're cycling through the countryside, and are well hydrated.

And of course it needs realtime cameras for each tree so a cyclist can check if it still has any leaves on it in autumn/winter.

these days a kid's only got to look slightly pale or sneeze and the parents rush them to a doctor...
thermometer, iot or no will only slow them down and raise the panic level.
And on that:
to placate the parents the doctors pretty much obliged to prescribe meds and write a sick note
and over the next week mom's gonna make sure the kid finishes that whole box of overpriced "kids" paracetamol
- funny how "kids" meds cost more but have less active ingredients.

I haven't - heck I'm going to have to restart The Witcher I someday and see if I can make sense of the control system - but if you have and liked the music, GoG are giving away a video of a live concert featuring the music from Wild Hunt until the 11th. Sounds pretty atmospheric.

I experienced this with Knights and Merchants[^].
Used to be one of my favorites when I was a kid, but now I think it's sooooo slow... I was completely fed up after the 4th stage

It's a great game, probably still the best game I've played this generation. It fails in a few RPG elements, mainly that your progression through the game is very strictly controlled, most enemies respawn but there's no grinding (you'll work out why) and obviously your character is quite fixed, equipment and types types fairly limited. That's the bad stuff though, the game is great and where it rises above other games is that there are no boring generic side-missions. Even the non-main quests are interesting with interesting characters and situations and often decisions to be made. The main quests are even better. There's also a game within-the-game called "Gwent" (don't quote me on that) which you'll be playing along with the main game.
Compared to Skyrim it's less RPG, more action-RPG, but it's the better game.

I read the books some years ago, so I grabbed the first game when it came out - but the control system drove me crazy, everytime I tried to hit something the view spun round and I couldn't see the baddies anymore. 
I'll probably try again once I'm done with Skyrim.

Thanks for the link. I've just found an old favorite from about 20 years ago. It worked great on the mac I had back then, but was always flaky on Windows. I gave up mac almost 20 years ago when I bought my first Windows '98 PC for college. I still remember the excitement when I got VS6 on it, realizing that I no longer had to write and compile my code in the school computer lab!
