IIRC, that movie was under consideration after Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country was made. The decision was made to switch to the Next Generation cast at that point.
I would have enjoyed seeing a 'Captain Sulu' movie. George's role, brief as it was, in The Undiscovered Country was fun.

Yeah, I know what geek hasn't thought about something like that waiting for dinner to cook. However if it shaves time off of every time I cook dinner, that does make a difference for me.

My grandma had one looking like that, for using on the wood fired stove. She never used it, she hated cleaning it.
Personally I'm wondering why pots for electric stoves aren't insulated.

There's a perfectly good reason why pans don't have heat sinks.
There's also a perfectly good reason why some people should never try to "innovate" outside of their own field.
I imagine that any chef, or even any person who does a lot of cooking, would be able to explain it -- and I'm pretty damned sure that they would never use that pan.

Nothing to worry about? The guy comes from Liberia, later walks into a hospital, tells them he's from Liberia and doesn't feel well, AND THEY SEND HIM HOME.
Even if the virus remains relatively difficult to transmit, the sheer idiocy and level of platitudes is amazing. And we still haven't closed the elephanting borders.

This reminds me of their epic slump through the 90's when they'd repackage the same technology over, and over, and over again and re-launch it as a new product. Often the only selling point they had was 'a transparent case' or the hard drive was a little bit larger.
Given that the iPhone was made larger (following other companies) and that the iPad is due to be larger (following other companies) I think we've a clear case for a stock dump. The vision died with Jobs - time to move on.
