I ended up working so late that my plans fell through. But it turns out I live close enough to Mexico to pick up the fight for free by plugging in an antenna and tuning into one of the Mexican channels.

An alternative runtime environment called <big>Android Runtime (ART)</big> was included in Android 4.4 "KitKat" as a technology preview.[3][4]
ART replaces Dalvik entirely in Android 5.0 "Lollipop".[5]
Does this new VM explain all (a lot) of the sluggishness issues I saw when my Nexus 7 was upgraded? Does it explain a lot of the issues with Lollipop? I wonder.

My apps run a tad faster since upgrading to v5, but I have noticed the virtual keyboard can be shy at times (i.e., it does not always want to appear when requested).

Whilst testing a library (generic) I am developing that creates a certain kind of graph (tree) full of whatever-types of classes, I created a simple Class for testing named ...  ... 'TestClass. To my surprise, this is an example of what a "node" comes out as in the serialized output (via DataContract) as:
