GoG are doing a weekend special which includes a game from '98: Die By The Sword[^] That caused me to buy a joystick many, mnay years ago.
Compared to modern games, it's pretty poor graphically, but...you swing your weapon with the mouse (or joystick) which makes it a load of fun.
And...best of all...you can clobber the bad guys with anything you pick up.
So you can hack his sword arm off, pick it up, and beat him to death with the wet end!
