My name is Michael Merrell and I have a passion for web programming. I have been working in the professional field of web development since 2007 and love what I do. I am one of those people who enjoys what they do for a profession so much that they spend a good chunk of their free time doing the exact same thing they do for work. In fact I have been working on websites and on the web since 1997. Primarily I develop in C# .NET using Visual Studio but also have experience in JavaScript, PHP, ActionScript and a number of other languages.
I am a firm believer in cloud computing and that web applications will slowly be overtaking your standard desktop applications. My opinion on that is not just because I am heavily invested in the field but the fact that the web has a lot to offer and is continually advancing in standards and practices. With that I also believe that standards are important to the industry and that the KISS principle is important when programming. I feel that sharing knowledge is key to new innovations and that ideas and opinions should be shared freely. I also have a thirst for new knowledge and believe that knowledge is power. I love learning about new technology and innovative ways of doing things.
