That depends on the application and the error. What else is in the shortcut? Command line parameters? Working directory? ...
There is nothing special about launching an MSDOS process. It launches just like any other. The problem is, more than likely, you're not launching the process with the complete information the process needs.

i am trying to establish parallel connection. So i want to send tcp SYN packet in parallel. i am using libnetNT.dll to create the packets

Hi,
ASP.NET allows you to authenticate the users in 3 ways. They are
1) Windows
2) Passport
3) Form
We can change the mode of authentication in the web.config file.

Passport authentication mode uses the centralized authentication service provided by Microsoft. In Forms authentication mode application has to provide the logic for authenticating the user.

I am trying to find a way to relay mail from a machine that is connected to the WAN via a dynamic non-public IP to a legitimate SMTP server in such a way that the email appears to originate from the legitimate SMTP server.
I am not a spammer, I am not trying to perform anything illegal, I just want to be able to send mail from my machine and not have it bounce because it originated from a dynamic non-public IP.
I know of some open-source solutions to this problem (like eSMTP) but would prefer to keep this within the context of my C# application.
Does anyone know a way to do this?

Don't even try. The public Internet mail system is becoming increasingly locked down due to the massive problem of spam. The server may not even permit relaying from a non-mail process running on the same machine - this is the default configuration of Exchange Server 2003.
Instead you must come to an arrangement with your ISP as to which machines on your side of your connection are permitted to send mail, which machine(s) (typically named a Smart Host) they should send mail to, and how, if required, they should authenticate.
Before you start getting clever ideas about forming your own TCP packets to spoof your address, I'll point out that XP SP2 will not allow you to generate any TCP packets using the raw sockets interface.

No, I am definitely not going try any "tricks" like packet mangling. Absolutely not! 
I am talking about an app that would act as sort of a local MUA that would hand off mail to a remote MTA. I have looked at a few open-source apps that already do this. I am just not ready to move my app onto a linux box as I have not yet ventured into Mono territory.

I am facing a big problem while usig Asynchronous socket communication for a simple server on chat application.
The problem is that, while sending message from server to client and from client to server the messages are breaking, ie intead of "Heloo how are u..". the client will reach the message as "Heloo ho" and "w are u..". Please help me with good solution to avoid this.

I will try to keep this question short and simple in compliance with codeproject standards. When working with MdiParent, I need to add some controls to the MdiParent. Then when displaying the MdiChild form, those controls on the MdiParent display in front of the MdiChild rather than properly being covered by the MdiChild.
To duplicate the conditions of the question. Create a windows C# form, set the isMdiContainer property to true, create a menu for the C# windows form, and then add the following code to the menu click event. Add a lot of controls to the MdiParent form including a picture box, a combo box, a text box and a panel control. After that create another windows C# form as the MdiChild form.
Add this code to the menu click event:

Can someone point me in a direction on how to solve this problem?
I have to be able to find out if a file I am pointing to is local or not.
I can point to a file through the network neighborhood or through a networked drive. I think finding out if the file was accessed through the network neighborhood would not be a problem, its when I map a network drive. Once the drive is mapped, it is given a drive letter like any other local drive.
Help would be much appreciated.

My idea was to try to unmap the drive and if my attempt fails, the drive must be local. The problem is, that if I unmap a drive with a username:pw, I have to remap it with the same username:pw which I may not have.

One possible solution is to use the WIN32 API function GetDriveType.
By passing in the drive as a string, the function will return the drive type as shown below.

Hello everyone,
I have installed Crystal Reports 9 additional to .Net 2003. Referencing to the newer items in the referenclist .net changes automaticly to the older .net parts of crystal reports engine, etc.
I tried to change the references externaly in the .csproj file but after loading the project the old configurations settings are set.
But using a sample project, all new references to crystal report components are correct.
Where are additional information placed to tell .net which references to use for ?
