MAnaged code requires the .NET framework to run - it's not code that your PC can understamd, but code that the .NET framework can cOMPILE into something your computer can run. C# and VB.NET are managed, full stop. unmanaged is a way of making it sound bad that native C++ code ( for example ) does not have this intermediate layer. It's NOT unmanaged, it's self managed ( the idea being that .NET provides garbage collection, and therefore manages your memory ( badly )). C++ code can be written to be managed, or 'unmanaged' in all versions of VS.NET.
MC++ is a dumb idea.

I am considering a situation where I have (n) number of form windows, each with an instance of the Microsoft Web Browser Control (IE) on each form. In each web browser control is an HTML page that has a Java applet. This is the only way I am aware of to get a Java applet to paint within a .NET Forms window.
Given that scenario I am trying to determine whethere there would be one Java VM loaded for all of the (n) applets inside the (n) MS Web Controls? Or would there be one Java VM loaded for each applet? Also, if using IE6, what JVM is being used? Microsoft's or Sun's?
Also, are there any thoughts on what overhead there would be in having multiple instances of the MS Web Control? I am expecting upwards of 10-15 as a worst case.

Hi,
I am having the 3 - nested frames... In the last IFRAME, i am displaying the bets's backs and lays in the ASP table genereated at runtime. The values for these backs and lays are changing contineously of the users are participating in the bets. So, my requirement is to refresh that table in each 3 minutes. Right now, what i am doing is, refreshing that IFRAME src, itself, i am simply refreshing the page in every 3 minutes by META TAG.
But the requirement is only to change the numbers/values which are chaning in DB, not the whole page, since it takes time to refresh and loading it again. I am looking for the feature that can solve my this problem.
Will it be possible, to execute a particular code in every 3 minutes. Like Timer control is only available in Windows Application.
Is there any solution ?

Look into XMLHTTP (search on Google). You setup a callback function on the ASP.NET side and create a Javascript on the client side that calls the function. You can pass data back (on through strings) and dynamically update controls on the client side. I can show you a simple example if you drop me an email. There's too many steps to do it here.

I sent the example yesterday and have been getting the following email ever since...
MailEnable: Message delivery has been delayed.
Message is waiting at mail.ameriteckbranding.com for delivery to exchange.ameriteck.com.
Reason: Mail Server for ameriteckbranding.com could not be contacted at this time. MailEnable will keep trying to deliver this message and will notify you of any progress.
I will post the example here in another reply.

Is there a way to run a doubleClick event on a radio button? It looks like .Net removed the double click event. In VB6, the OptionButton had the dblClick event.

Hi everybody,
In MFC I can use CInternetSession to implement the Internet session, I mean, I can keep the session and then to naviagate in the website(especially some website build base Java).
but I don't know how to do it in C#(.NET). and If I couldnot keep the session id(information), the webserver always redirect me to some page I don;t want to go to.
Does anybody have some idea?

I am trying to display a disabled (Enabled=No) Rich Text control with the same background (i.e white) as the enabled version, but it appears that the 'Enabled' property overides BackColour. I have tried setting Backcolor in code, but to no avail.
The screen is a 'display only' version of text created elsewhere in the program.
Any suggestions please?
Program is C#, but I think I can convert your suggestions in any language - the problem seems to be in the implementation of the control, not the language!

If all you want is prevent users from altering the text, you can try using the ReadOnly property. That doesn't change the background color.
If that's not possible, you can derive your class from RichTextBox, override Paint and set the background color there.

I am seeing errors while trying to generate unit tests in visual studio 2005 (whidbey) for classes involving generics. Is there a known problem with the internal unit test framework that is shipped with Beta Refresh 1 of vs 2005?
Errors I noticed:
1. It does not generate appropriate generic classes for Accessors. The "<T>" is missing.
2. Adding the "<T>" manually allows me to build but does not allow me to run the test and gives this error: Illegal use of attribute on NameSpaceName.GenericClassName`1.CountTest. The TestMethodAttribute can be defined only inside a class marked with the TestClass attribute.
The TestClass attribute is defined for the class but we had to manually add "<T>" at the end to remove build errors.
Anybody faced this before and got a workaround?
