Why do you write your post in bold? Bold text is used to emphasize words in a text, if you emphasize the entire text, it's just annoying. Almost like SCREAMING.
Why do you have two forms in the first place?
Put hidden fields in the second form, and copy the values from the first form into the hidden fields.

The refresh button in most browsers will load the page from the cache if appropriate (hasn't expired, no query string, etc.), but there is usually a means of forcing everything (page, images, etc.) to be downloaded again (Ctrl+F5 in IE and FF). window.location.reload(true); will also accomplish this sort of cache flushing.

I read so many....... articles about ajax. It looks that the writers know what they are talking about.
BUT  what is the simple way to update db with some data I got from my form.
And please don't refer me to an article where someone created a monstrous library that can sumbit a rocket to the moon...

Ajax or not Ajax, updating the database is still the same.
The only difference is using Ajax you can send data back to the server without posting the form.
There are plenty of examples in CodeProject itself on Ajax (check your navigation menu on the left for AJAX).
If you're interested, Anthem.Net is a very good .Net AJAX library you can use right away without needing to understand all the complexity*.

Dear All,
I have saved my username and password using PHP in Mysql Server. I have used PASSWORD('password').But for user verification how I will check user password from Mysql server using PHP.Because PASSWORD() one way process.
What things I have to do?
Pl anybody in help ? Any hints.

SELECT PASSWORD('mypass')
will give the the value of the encripted password 'mypass' simply check the returned value from this against the value in the password field.
I have not tested this, I assume it will wortk.

Well As I think, He should do as:
select password from table_name where userName = 'passedUserName'
Now,in while loop $pass = $result['password'];
if($pass == PASSWORD(myPass))
return true;
else
return false;

take a look at this code ...

basically i want it so that the top and bottom inner divs always stay 20px in height, and the inner div fills in the rest of the left-over space of the outter div ... but i don't want the outter div becoming taller than the page itself ... any help?

I believe you can use the css float property to do this.
Try the following steps:
1. Float the first inner div to the top, and specify height: 20px
2. Specify height of second inner div as 100% (I'm not sure whether this works in FireFox though)
3. Float the third inner div to the bottom, and specify height: 20px
That should allow the middle (second) div to fill in the page.

Maybe you can try this?
In your CSS document create a class like so:
.Top
{
position:absolute;
top:0px;
width:100%;
max-height:100%;
overflow:hidden;
}
and then create a bottom part like this:
.Bottom
{
position:absolute;
bottom:0px;
width:100%;
max-height:100%;
overflow:hidden;
}
Now, when you define the classes in div it would look something like this:
and bottom:
everything between top and bottom will scroll under the top and bottom classes.

I have noticed in Netscape and Opera that web sites can display an icon in the address bar just before http:// as this site does.
I am interested in doing this for my web site but have no idea what is involved.

I followed the instructions and now have my icon appearing in Netscape and Firefox.
It does NOT work with IE 6.01 SP 1
I am currently using IE and the Codeproject icon does not appear either.
This would appear to be consistent with Microsoft wanting to over-ride anything that interferes with their logo and also attempting to take over all types of MEDIA using their own products.

Weird, try bookmarking the page and IE only then downloads the icon... I just tried a quick google[^] and it seems *it's by design*
