I recommend you read Chris' sticky post on how to get answers to questions.
Assuming you are asking : I am using a Setup and Deployment project and when I install new versions it stops due to an existing version already installed. I'd like to know how to change this behavior so that I can have the deployment project automatically remove the old version then install the new one.
The answer is this: Select your project, look at properties. Change the appropriate attribute. Note: You can only remove existing versions if a) the software was originally installed from a file on the hard drive -and- b) the new version is installed from the same location. I imagine there are other quirks in the process as well that limit it's effectiveness. I've only gotten this to work from within my project but never deployed. (Probably needs to Assert security attributes that I've not figured out yet.)

keycodev2.dll error ". If i install the crystal report support files from dotnet cd in client machine then it is not showing any error. Can i add those crystal decision files with the project. where i can get the files?. Can we add the framework with the project

Hi to all,
I am checking the value entered in a Cell of DataGridView in it's 'CellEndEdit' event. But after completion of the event if value is not proper in that cell how I can set that cell as current cell for changing the entered value.
I had used 'CurrentCell' property of DataGridView in that event as follows,
DGV.CurrentCell = DGV[0,0];
but it's not working.

Another approach that is better for your users is to subscribe to the KeyPressEvent. Interogate the key that was pressed in that textbox and if it is as ' ' then change it to a '0'. That way if they hit the space bar, it still displays on the screen as a zero.

Hi,
When I'm compiling an idl file in a project in VC8 2005 on x64 configuration I'm getting the error. The operation could not be completed. Unspecified Error. Any comments on the same. How do I rectify it. Does it require some settings to be done. I have the same error pop up when I try to get the Properties of the project but could not do so.

Does any guru know how to get the file attributes i.e. subject, title, author, for a file that is not a microsoft office document. There is no information on the web or with Microsoft on how to do this.

Hi,
I encountered a problem in using tab control in VS studio 2005.
If I set the tab control "Alignment" property to "Left" or "Bottom",
so that the tab page strip appear on the left or bottom of the pages, the problems arised. For "Left" alignment, the text on the tab strip didn't show up. For "Bottom" alignment, the tab strip appearance look strange. How can I solve it ?

Hi friends
i've dataviewgrid with data from sql server db. our select can multi select on the grid.
my question is ,users may sometime forget to hold Ctrl key and they loose all previous selections. and they have to redo all those selections again.
am just wondering is it possible to have checkbox for selection (like in listbox) in grid ?
