I tried this code; it works
TextBox obj=new TextBox();
propgrid.SelectedObject=obj;
But when i declare array of object then then try to pass its element to SelectedObject property, the grid don't show anything(like pointed to null)
TextBox []obj=new TextBox[2];
propgrid.SelectedObject=obj[0];
Plz help me what goes wrong int his case.. why its not taking element of object.

Hi,
I'm using .NET framework 2. I have a config which uses the file attribute like so:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<appSettings
file="External.config" >
</appSettings>
</configuration>
and External.config contains all my app settings. When I update some settings and write them back using the Configuration.Save method, all the settings get written to the app.config and not the External.config. Is this by design or is there an option I've missed?

In the deployment project of my application, in the file system property, I have added a "custom folder" which I want to use for application data that may or may not be different than the application folder. Both "application folder" and my "custom folder" have the same default location. The "application folder" has a read-only dynamic property called TARGETDIR and my "custom folder" was given a dynamic property of DATADIR.
If all is left alone, the setup will create all subdirectories in the right place.
However, how can I allow the user to specify and alter the DATADIR dynamic property by specifying a different directory other than the default location in the same way as it is done in the user interface for the application "Installation Folder" during setup?

You won't. It's not supported.
Only the .NET Framework 2.0 supports targeting 64-bit platforms. And, no, you can't use the .NET Framework 2.0 with Visual Studio.NET 2003.

actually you can use 2.0 net framework I have it running nicely on my computer and i am using sp2 xp and visual basic 2003.net

You can use the .NET Framework 2.0 to RUN your application if it was compiled under VS.NET 2003. VS.NET 2003 will NOT use the compilers in .NET Framework 2.0. If you don't have VS.NET 2005, the only way to get your code compiled under .NET 2.0, without using a 3rd party IDE, is to comple it from the command line.

Hi,
I'm developping a .NET Assembly in 2 versions. This Assembly is used by 12 applications. These applications are installed on the same machine. Some of these applications need the Assembly version 1.0 and some need the Assembly version 2.0. Can someone tell me how to tell the different applications which version of the Assembly they must use and how to install the different versions of the Assembly so they can be bound by the CLR.

I want to make chat program using System.Net.Sockets namespace
Chat examples work fine in local area network...
But I couldn't get them work on internet.
I have DSL router..
I setup these on adsl:
NAT(Virtual servers):
Protocol: TCP, External port: 399 Internal Port:399 Internal server IP address: 192.168.1.2 (which my computer's local IP)
am I missing something?

If you are trying to communicate between your computer and another computer through the internet, your internal IP wont resolve to the other computer. You may need to add your internal IP into your Router's DMZ. Another thing that may cause problems is your firewall may be blocking the port you are listening on (399)

hey
i m creating a web appln in c#. recently i implemented session var in my website to enhance security.. but the problem is that after publishing this website on IIS(inetpub\wwwroot..), i opened it from my browser.. the sessions are not at all working..
even after entering correct username and pass.. i m redirected to login page again and again..
on the other hand when debugging the application, it works perfectly well.. m using visual web dev exp 2005
please help

Hi
I have recently upgraded from vs2003 - vs2005. I had made some changes to my application and i had simply sent our
customer an updated exe file. When they pasted the file into the installed directory and replaced the existing file
they got an error message appear
"The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
So, i re-generated the deployment project in vs2005, and tried to run this. when this ran it came up with a warning (see below) and then prompted me to downloadload and install .net framework 2.0, i went through this process and completed the install and the install of my application. but when i went to run my application i got the "The application has failed to start because the ....." error again
has anyone come across this before ? or any ideas on whats wrong ?
