hi there
i have a form with many controls. when i will make final version my apllication will run slow because of that manny controls???
all my controls are from standard like labels, combo, textbox's ,datagrid..etc
if the answer is yes, what to do to avoid slow motion in use of my software?

Standard controls are going to be fine. Really, it depends, if you have a speed issue, then you need to look at what could be causing it, but with the speed of PCs nowadays, it's not likely you need to worriy

How do i de install .NET framework 1.1 and re install it. i have .NET framework 2.0 on the same machine and its a windows 2003 server.

I suspect some thing is messed up with the .NET 1.1 and so i want to reinstall that
The reason i came to that conclusion is that a .NET application i wrote previously which was working previously well is now generating an error
"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled process id = .... Thread id = .... "
The same application works perfectly on my computer and i know that it worked perfectly two days before too on one of our customer computer and some thing was done on that server afterwards.
Well i want to know if there is an easy way to remove it and reinstall it its on windows 2003 server. It does not show up in Add Remove Programs. When i just run dotnetfx.exe(redistributable package) it says its already there.

Seems more likely to me that the PC it's crashing on is showing you a problem in your code that depends on user settings or something like that.

Is there anyway of reducing the runtime of the .Net projects that I have done. Currently its taking too muh time.

That's a really vague question. What do you mean by "reducing the runtime", "taking too much time"?? Too much time for what?
The biggest problem with performance is writing inefficient code...

I have done a few projects in .Net framework 1.1. I have found that these projects do not run in systems without .Net framework installed. There is always an "initialization error" that comes up. Is there any way of overcoming this. Plese Respond.

No. The Framework is hte runtime library. You can't have a .net application without the .net framework any more than you can have an mfc project with out the mfc runtimes, or a vb project without the vb ones. What you should do is have your installer check for the presence of the framework and tell the user it needs installed. "This app needs the .net framework installed. you don't have it. Click here to download (link to MS download location)". Alternately you could write a very small c/c++ launcher app that tests for hte framework, and spits up an error box if it's missing. IF installed, it luanches your main app.
if you're truely bound and determined to avoid hte framework, there are several expensive products that can compile .net code down into a native win32 app. My understanding is that they're all somewhat quirky as well, so you should start using them early in the dev cycle and test extensively to make sure they're not breaking anything.

You can use the .NET Reflector to view the source code in any .NET dll or exe. This includes the ones that ship with the framework.

I’m trying an application with ADO and I wish the result of my interrogations be in a dataGrid but I’m struggle with he following problems
1. How to set column width in order to be something like auto-width
2. On click event I have
Object *id_person = dataGrid12->get_Item(dataGrid12->get_CurrentRowIndex(),5);
wich is an ID from one o my sql-tables. On this approach I must have revealed the ID in datagrid. How to do this in other way but when i click on a row of the data grid to get the ID of the entry
3. I have an acces db with birthday’s in date/time, Medium format date, but when I shown them in datagrid they are listed in mm/dd/yyyy format. How to have them in dd/MMM/yyyy format in datagrid?
4. how can I know all possible exception because I wish to thereat them separately

I have got a solution with several projects. the staring project (an asp.net site) has reference to an other dll (with strong name for GAC and COM+). And this dll has a reference to onther dll...
The references are right in visual, but when I run the program It can't find the assembly's because it looks up a different version of the assembly....
If i check this in the .net configuration utility I can see that the reference is different than in visual studio !!!!????
so in visual I have a reference to a assmbly with version 1.0.xxx.2
But when I open the application in the .net configuration utility and i check the assembly's dependecy, it got another version 1.0.xxx.1 ...
Why does visual show you onther version of the assmbly then the compiled app.
Where's the logic ????

Easiest way, at least in my opinion, would be to start a new Windows Service project and copy in the code you.
