Well,
due to the fact that i'm not fascinated on tables like others are, i can only give you some simple hints.
But before that, i want to ask, why are you still using nested tables? It isn't even a rumour anymore, that it produces more problems and a massive code-overhead and eats RAM-Ressources 'til the earth stands still. Okay, whatever; Should be your problem, but if there's a reason why, please note it.
1) Even in html 4 it is not allowed to use style-attributes in every table-element when using nested tables, because without a class-definition in a cascading style sheet the doubled definitions are differently interpreted. That is, because tables are organized as a list inside the interpreter, so the normal 'The same tag inside (with a style definition) overrides the parent tag, is not given.
2) The 'td'-tags/-Elements that are emepty are written like '<td ></td>'. That space in between the opening tag should be deleted. Why? Because there are many browsers especially Mozilla-based and the older Netscapes that produce blank childs/doubled text-nodes inside the Element-Hierarchy while parsing the site on load. The result is unpredictable, because even the same browser-installation (same version, setup-type, etc.) is making it's behaviour dependent on the machines power (RAM, CPU-TYPE,etc.) and especially, the core-services provided by the operating system.
So just clean up that table-tree of those spaces. Anytime, you are building a site. There should be no element that hasn't attributes in it having spaces!
3) Due to the talk, any helper might give advice based on looking up the code-result in front-page... I'm not one of those 'pro-anything-else-than-microsoft'-users, but to be true, though' i'm loving microsoft-products i never used frontpage. But what i can tell you, is that the Internet Explorer (any Version) got a problem with '100%' of width in the style-attribute of a table. This is because the styles that are pre-defined for tables use borders, column-spacing and margin-settings, that make it impossible to run a table at '100%' width without defining a stylesheet that cleans up those pre-definitions.
In some tasks it could help to set the body-Element and all-Elements to zero padding and margin.
So the resulting code should look like:

This is the absolute minimum set of style definitions you might have to use if you want to use tables (especially nested ones) and are ready to style up any element directly per style-attributes.
4) It is definately unnessecary to double the styles, means: use per style-definition given width- and border-values OR use the direct formatting per attribute. Why? Because any browser-type has another way of processing those values. As the Internet Explorer until Version 5.5 is first rendering the site using the direct attributes (e.g.: width="100%", border="0") and then processes the style-definitions in your head-area, then adding external stylesheets and then at least looks up if a style-attribute is present inside the Element, Other browsers do it the other way around.
5) I didn't looked it all up, but check if you gave all values for width and border-width, etc. a px after the number, because some browsers don't recognize these values as pixel values if not set, instead using pt (Point ...typographic measure).
6) If you're not giving a doctype and/or a namespace definition, any browser will parse the code as html 3/4, but there you got a problem, because those who are using html 3 or html 3 compatibility don't recognize the %-sign in the width-attribute. Even the newest IE's and Safari, Konqueror and Co. partly don't recognize them because of the downward-compatibility and different table-handling.
So at least you should give a doctype. Look up http://www.w3.org and search for doctype headers.
If you don't know what this is, here is an example for a XHTML 1 Transitional DocType:

The DocType in any case has to be the first line(s) in your html-file if you want to use it.
The according namespace to this (used in newer browsers, capable of XML-presenting) is:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
So this one is used instead the typical '<html>'-Element.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I am using Nested DataGrid in one of my page. and the output of that datagrid is nested tables when it renders the nested datagrid. I removed all the style from the table but still it is not showing me the 14th level. I noticed one more thing that if I remove top table i.e. root table then it shows me the 14th level. That means it just shows me 12 levels only. So, is their any limit for nested tables. I google this problem but i found that their is no limit for nesting the tables. Then why it shows only 12 nested table. I have given an example of frontpage for all to see the design view as well as preivew. In design view it's showing me all the levels but when I preview that page it shows levels till 13. I also see that output in browser (Internet Explorer).
When that perticular page is displayed to the user, user can see only 12 levels but in view source of that page their are more levels.
Is this is a limit of table or any drawback of html when it displays the output in browser?
Please suggest.

Which browser(s) and version(s) do you use (exactly) to look the results up?
Do you have the page online?
Is there a reason that binds you to realize the structure with nested-tables?

I am Using Internet Explorer 6.0 with service pack 1.
The sturcture is something like tree view. User can drill down to the Parent To Child. User can expand and collapse the records so I need to use the nested datagrid which finally render the nested table. The posted code is part of html output of that page. You can view that output if you want me to mail that html to you then i'll mail to you.

I'm quite new to javascript so i may have some rather silly kind of questions... but anyway here's the problem...
I want to loop through all the elements in a form so as to check their values in order to validate the relevant fields, i thought i could get the number of form objects within the form using "formName.length." Then use a loop to go through all the form fields.
It seems formName.length is not working for me ... it's returning "undefined" or "0" values. How could i get the number of form objects within a certain form.

I am using COM object in Web Application. There is a problem to solve authentication & authorization issue for Server site. At the time of using the COM object it shows the error " ACCESS DENIED ". If I am writing <identity impersonate="true"> in web.config, it is OK but the AJAX file is not accessible for that reason.
if I am using iisreset in Run command, then the whole application is OK, but it is not possible to reset iis again and again in production server. Have you any idea for this?
For more clarification, suppose there is a link in a Web page interface. After click the link, one Word document will open. How we solve authentication/authorization issue in iis without affecting to other files like AJAX.
I am using ASP.NET with C#. I am not using MTS.

I want to retrieve data as image from access database. I stored some image into access database. This field's datatype is OLE Object. When i want to read, convert stream, and write bitmap, i get some error.

I don't have any answer to your question but I would like to know why you are performing such a task. To store images directly in a Access database is not the best thing to do, especially if you plan to have any volume of users on the system. A hundred images in the DB and it will slow right down...
A better plan would be to save the files into a directory and reference their wherabouts in the database. You would be able to build pages with the images in a much similar way as you would do if you had saved them in the database.
The benefits of this would be:
Quicker database with less data stored in it.
Quicker to get the images when needed. Because you dont have to process the binary code.
The only thing you might lose is security, because they could simply be accessed via a browser if the user knew the file name...

You won't lose security with this method if you Restrict Access to page, and have a redirect to login page.

I'm not sure if were getting our wires crossed on this one. Storing the images in a database is the most secure way of doing things. Storing the images in a folder on the server is less secure because they could be accessed from any web broswer by requesting their file name from the server. All servers as far as i'm aware will serve up an image if it is requested without questioning it authority.
I believe there are ways of protecting certain folders on your server which is another option. But the main question should be do you need such precautions. Why are you storing the images and what are they off?

Hi,
I added a customized button in IE that Shows a customized toolbar. Problem is that I can't make it HIDE the toolbar. I don't know if I have to change button's CLSID in registry, as I suspect that the following key
CLSID = {E0DD6CAB-2D10-11D2-8F1A-0000F87ABD16}
refers to a button that only SHOWS the toolbar. It should have the same behavior as IE "Favorites" button.
Anyone ?

You might use server-side java-scripts or signated ones. First ones are just loaded as an object or external script and accordingly set to the appropriate read-rights par ftp.
If you just want to make it 'strongly not recommended' up to 'impossible' to understand what the script works out, well... What about crazy hieroglyphic names for variables, short-forms of if/then/else-constructs and as much functions as possible?
If you want to make it heavily difficult for the normal user to 'see' your scripts you should use an xml-http-request instance and use it as a loader for your external javascript-segments normally bound inside the body. And then replace the innerHtml of any given Element that has an id-Tag with this script. That performs a runtime/asynchronous call of the script only accessible in RAM. No temporary files, no Cookie-handling, no Session-Sets...
But if you really meant Coverage as used for covering something up, get into the details, etc. then you should install the latest opera, read anything about storing sessions and edit them in author-mode, buy a good Javascript 1.3/1.5-Reference and spent some time with HT-Tracks WebSite-Copier. With that you're on the best way to 'investigate'. You might be, because you truly don't wanted to know about simple tasks like 'hacking' and 'jacking', do you?

hehe, thanks for trying elyphe but that isn't what I meant. Code coverage is part of testing your applications. So you run unit tests and then you get coverage stats that tell you how much of your code is tested. It is a pretty important part of testing. Wikipedia has a good explanation[^].

You need those results for planning projects and to see how efficioent your coder's section is by presenting your continuous struggle to financier's, huh? (...action ...reaction; uuuaaaargh!)

But isn't it possible to use the watcher/debugger/slayer functions given in ecclipse, flash 8, .Net St. 2005 or even in Office's Java Script Debugger? I mean, where's the problem to filter out the JIT-Message-Handles? As far as i know you have full capability to revise any single phrase of a conduct in runtime or even run marked parts in statistic mode, so it catches what you want.
But probably i'm once again too far away from that piece of reality you've asked for.

No, it is for my own benefit. Would you write code without unit tests? I wouldn't anymore and I also hate to write code without code coverage analsysis too.
Unit tests without code coverage are less effective. You can be sure you will miss certain paths through your code. Code coverage will tell you what extra tests you need to write to cover all your code.

For real,
i understand what you had in mind, but on my side it's another task, because i don't code complete applications. Most of the time i'll just help out with modularized components developed under the aspect of following truly the given guideline and therefor restrictions; so i never had the problem to make the impossible possible and code up a fully featured app running independent.
The code clips i've produced since yet, have been almost small (about 300 to 500 wraps) the biggest one was building a pure scripted 3D-Tetris-Variant (About 4800 wraps). That was the first project where i ever used try-catch-blocks and similar functions, so you see, i'm no pro. Just spending my time with that to get deeper into it.
I also have absolutely no plan, what kind of tools are out their for scripting purposes, because i do coding by writing on paper, imagining it overall, then script it module per module, class by class and in the end when i got every necessary particle, i put it together.
That's why i never have had problems with debugging until now. I'll do the main testing while i make changes and in the end completely roll-up the whole set manually under certain conditions.
So again, it's not professional, but i can learn how it comes to the failures the code produces. And i think you're winning with it, because the library i got now after 2 to 3 years of massive scripting is mostly reusable, what gives me benefit in time and less stress for working on new projects.
Well, it's all in the head (though clean and precisely documented), but i am the coder who has to use these scripts, so they are my tools and spare parts.
Sorry, if i disturbed your peace with these statements, but i wonder how others, like you, who are interested in doing things the processing professional way, think about it.

I might have you wrong but I think it is dangerous to be over condifent when it comes to coding. Any reasonably complex system is too big to fit into your head as a whole. That is why unit testing couple with code coverage is such a useful tool.
No programmer I have ever known can understand every single path through a system. Those that said they can are invariably proven wrong with some code coverage analysis.
And it applies whether you are doing applications or libraries. It is all code at the end of the day and all code contains multiple paths.

No, i think you don't got me wrong and i know that it sounds self-confident in the way i told my thoughts 'bout that thematic.
You might understand if you think of it as my specialty, meaning the way of handling systems.
I don't know why, but like others who are able to describe pictures precisely which they've seen once for some seconds (and that years before...), i'm able to memorize how dataflow behaves and to predict how it should by source but in reality will, because of the surrounding setup.
I think it is because i started with, e.g. assembler on 6510 when i was nine to ten years old and stepped on to fortran, cobol, etc. and 68k assembler just a year later. Or another example; due to interest i was able to speak english (in simple sentences) before i got into school, just by hearing music and listen to the talks of my aunt and their irish and english friends. (I'm native german, sorry.. forgot to tell about that)
Well, however that's really nothing special. Just interest & training. I thought it possibly might let you follow my mind with that background-information. That's why i'm telling you.
So back to my request, if you have some links or literature to get deeper into it, please send some more info. Or (it sounds like) if you have gathered information in your own projects about the efficiency the analysis brought to your codework, please tell some' details. I think it is most interesting to hear/read special reports from insiders.
